Marc Stein: Expect Knicks to make coaching change Thursday

Orlando (Frank Vogel) and New York (Jeff Hornacek) are the two teams widely expected in coaching circles to proceed quickly in making a change, perhaps as early as Thursday, and launch their searches.

i don't see the point. we need to tank next year. no new coach is gonna start his career trying to lose. and i don't expect the front office to sell off the vets. oh boy.

We need a better offensive and more important defensive system in place.

I'm good with Perry getting his own pick of coach but people are going to be disappointed if they think someone is out there who will turbocharge our offense and defense without a major roster overhaul.

This organization has no intention to tank this season or next season, if the Front Office recognized the futility of their ways they would not have signed Trey Burke, traded for Mudiay...instead focused on drafting an impact player with KP out.

Therefore they are going to hire another coach with the intention of a "Try to limp into the playoffs" philosophy by any means necessary.

This is the anti-Trust the Process.

It's more about developing our young players and Hornacek was very poor with that. He should go although I like him as a person.

Jeff hasn’t really had much to work with over here, but Blatt is probably a better coach.

NBA players won't take Blatt seriously, he has no NBA pedigree and cant relate to NBA players.

Optimistically they may want a coach to give the players some off season development work, which is apparently something Jeff didn't believe in.

Bring the brinks truck to Jay Wright's house. There are some good candidates out there. Fizdale, Beilein, Blatt, etc. Good time to fire and hire imo.
