I haven't watched too much of the Pacers lately, but whenever I look at the boxscore and highlights, he looks like a ghost out there. And today he looks really poor, on every facet of the game except passing.
Is this because of the injury or do you reckon there's something else to this?

Re: What happened to Sabonis?
He was exactly like this last year in OKC. Maybe he is hitting some sort of sophomore wall or my theory is that his simple, fundemantals based play does not work when he plays against the same guys second or third time in a season. He has worked hard to add new moves in the offseason to get past the defenders in the early season but could not improve when defenders adapted to them.

Re: What happened to Sabonis?
The ankle injury and set back kinda slowed him down, but it's about minutes and situations. He looked so good at times that when he doesn't get the minutes it is reflected big in his box score.

And it is painfully obvious he can't finish with his right hand. Teams are really starting to play him to turn to his right shoulder. That is how Lou Will got a steal on him yesterday.

I saw him make a right handed layup recently so he must be working on the problem. if he can't solve it, he'll wind up a taller PsychoT, but I think he'll fix it.

I agree. He has made progress. He still turns to his right shoulder almost every time on the block though.

Re: What happened to Sabonis?
Sophomore Slump I guess.
Also, all players with ambition want to start games, but when your front office signs a new backup 4 and keeps giving confidence to Myles Turner (which they should be doing in this situation) doubts can only grow.
We all feel better/more confident if someone sees us as their first option. The Pacers are in a position that they can't see Sabonis that way (yet). They see him as a backup and haven't taken any steps to move him closer to a starting position wether that would be the 4 or the 5.

Maybe he is worrying too much about Myles Turner?

Re: What happened to Sabonis?
any criticism of Sabonis must first recognize how important Thad Young has been. Damos' time will come.

Re: What happened to Sabonis?
Domas will be all right. Just coming of the bench affects his over all performance. He is a starter in this league and playing with the starters 32+ minutes would benefit everybody. That will happen in the future, as of right now Domas has to look deep inside and provide maximum output during his limited role. First two games were bad for him, but knowing his competitive nature and strive to perfection - we hope to see different Domas in the postseason from now on.
