I don't see him as an option but the thought of him yelling at Tim Hardaway's son has a certain poetry to it.

Interested to hear who you want Ill

Honestly?

I dont know.

Its so many good names. Jay Wright is my fav but he not coming. Seems committed to VU.

I Kinda wanna go the Young College coach route, but not familiar with all the best ones fully
.

NBA retreads Fizz would be at the top of my realistically possible list.

All in all, I want a serious demeanor, hard nose coach. No Nonsense. a mofo to put fear in Knicks players, but who can develop them the right way.

For sure - you had Hornacek's back more than most.

I'm not even talking tank or no tank. He probably could have been more competitive by being a little more flexible early on.

Guys who possibly wont be here got all the minutes in a rebuilding year. Jeff is not a coach for development and he needs to go period.

Do you really think any other NBA was going to play Dotson, Frank, Willy or Kornet 30-35 mpg to "develop" them? That's not how you develop players.

How could you say without hearing the interview? I would want to hear a very detailed plan for implementing player development. From game management, to how they would advise the offseason, to how they would manage in-season development, to management style, to disciplinary approach, to style of play, to how they would coach once developmental principles have been implemented. Many details. Not necessarily with an outcome in mind but I'd want a coach to have thought it all through.

How could we expect to know that from afar?

I'm with you 100%. Jay Wright would be great. Him and Blatt are tied for my number 1 choice.

No one here coming to turn this ship around.

The problem is the roster.

Hornaceck has flaws, the next coach will too, and yah will all scream fire.

We went through 11 head coaches since 2001? Every time we suck we do the same thing....how about trying something different?

No one expects to win next year right? So keep Jeff and assess this next year with a healthy KP.

It's time for this front office to try something different. I'm tired of all these retreads. Go the college route.

If Patrick became head coach he would have to wear a Jeff Van Gundy shaped ankle bracelet

I’m looking forward to this board having a new person to blame everything on and call and idiot after previously praising

Serious question. Does a HC really matter THAT much?

Let’s get a guy who players love and that will attract FAs. Fizzdale seems like that dude.

No because if you keep Jeff, he’ll be coaching for his job again. We need a coach that can comfortably choose to develop the team instead of winning.

So what is?

Do you think sitting on the bench and watching garbage vets play ahead of you is how to develop your rookies?

A lot of successful teams felt otherwise. Maybe we should learn a lesson from them.

That’s a fascinating video

I believe I’ve heard about this kind of thing before.

I’m under the impression that people call this coaching.

I haven’t seen this in ny since the early 2000s
I hardly recognize it

What makes you think that’s a coaching decision and not based on a mandate from management?
