This series on paper is almost identical to the Clips series last year

I agree that this is a tough matchup, but completely disagree about needing HCA.

HCA is completely overrated when it comes to the 4th/5th seed matchup. The pressure is on the home team, so Utah can play with nothing to lose in the first 2 games to try and steal one. Most series don't have the home team winning all their home games anyway, so it really isn't that important, and I actually think it can be preferable for some teams to start a series without the pressure of protecting home court.

I think Utah's first round series last year was a prime example. OKC will be a tough matchup, but starting out with HCA is pretty insignificant IMO.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

Going with OKC in 7. Just think the talent edge in OKC wins out in the end.

Utah in 6. They will make it to the second round and Houston will get revenge from '07 and '08 when they lost to Utah back to back.

Oh wait, coaches will be pushed to adjust. Oh Donovan.

I'm not impressed with OKC's star power. Utah is the better team. They will win.

OKC is getting severely downplayed. They have the 2 best players in this series, and we all know the playoffs is all about star power. Utah's main scorer is Mitchell too, and he's a rookie with no playoff experience. This will not be a close series like everyone is expecting

As a Jazz fan, I like Utah opening on the road. It lets them get their feet wet without being under the pressure of playing at home. Homecourt advantage only matters if the series goes 7 games.

The coaching matchup favors Utah. The Jazz will put Carmelo in pick-and-roll for as long as he's out there and the Jazz should manufacture looks from it. They'll make PG13 and Westbrook beat them in isolation. If OKC's stars make contested jumpers, so be it.

Okc is the team I wanted to play the least other than the big two of warriors and rockets. I was upset when I realized that win or lose the Portland game, we had to face the thunder. They are just a bad matchup for the jazz. The eternal pessimist in me says the thunder take the series in 6 or 7.

I think it will be a fun series. Let's face it, this is about Mitchell getting to taste the playoffs. Rubio too. Playing the Spurs would have been dreadfully dull.

Again, pretty much an exact description of what we were going against with the Clips last year. If that post was done last year:

LAC is getting severely downplayed. They have the 2 best players in this series (Paul / Griffin), and we all know the playoffs is all about star power. Utah's main scorer is Hayward too, and he has no playoff experience. This will not be a close series like everyone is expecting

Kinda wish OKC would’ve dropped back to 6 to play GS in the 2nd Round.

Star power counts, though OKC have hardly been a juggernaut all season. They have however played some of their best basketball against the better teams and have negotiated a tricky schedule to finish with the #4 seed. OKC won the season series 3-1 but all four games were played before the end of 2017, and long before the Jazz started to click.

If OKC are legit, they should win this series, and pretty comfortably, say 5 games, but I can't see it happening. I could see this series going deep and will favor the Thunder for now in 7.
