It was time and it had to be done. It sucks that another coach needed to be fired, but he just isn't the coach this team needs right now. He never seemed to be able to adjust to today's NBA, and he also isn't the player developer that this team is going to need after the front office rebuilds and hopefully gets rid of a lot of these Hennigan era players. This team needs a fresh start, and a new coach to lead them and develop them properly.

Yeah Vogel is too much of an old school coach. Need somebody who understands where the league is now and is going. I wish Frank the best though.

Damn just saw the news about Chad getting fired. Was hoping he was gonna get a chance but if you're gonna burn it down...BURN IT DOWN!

I expect the roster to go through a clean slate as well. This will certainly be an entertaining off-season.

Wow even Jay Hernandez couldn't survive this. Shocked, he has been like a roach after the nuclear apocalypse, somehow surviving everything. I thought he would end up CEO the way he was going, getting promoted for no reason.

He's gonna show up to work today anyway. The Immortal Jay Hernandez will not accept the fact that he's been fired. Surely this is some really bad and late April Fool's joke.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Why did everyone assume Forcier was some kind of maestro coach in waiting? Everyone that has anything to do with this team is complete garbage and needed to go, especially anyone to do with development. The front office didn’t even hire him and I’ve never heard his name in head coach talks.

I’m tired of this organization half assing this. They need a true reboot. I expect most of our hold overs to be moved as well. This team needs a complete roster overhaul.

Stackhouse is the guy I think. Stackhouse with Nurse would be perfect. Those guys would be able to use our core players in ways that will actually show us their max potential.

I love sweeping change like this. It really sends a message to players - quit screwing around or you are gone. And trust me, getting traded for a 2nd round pick is shaming. That is why Elf tried to say that there were better trades that the FO turned down. I doubt it, he was just ashamed of his value.

And to think I was so hopeful after they hired him two years ago... Now I agree that it was the only right solution to let him go.

I'm glad this season is over and I need to take a break from this team. But I'm at the same time very exited for busy offseason so most probably I'll just keep scouring this forum everyday anyways. FML.

My thoughts exactly.

Vogel is a good (not great) coach. He has proven that given real talent, he can produce a quality team. What he hasn’t shown is the ability to take such a team to the next level or on the other end of the spectrum, develop a young team.

This looked like a good pairing at the time with hopes of AG emerging. But it didn’t happen to the extent needed for Vogel to be Vogel. Thus this was never going to work. You could see it on his face during games and in talks. He was miserable here.

This isn’t a blame game for me. He just wasn’t the right guy for this job and this wasn’t the right team for his system. Bad pairing.

I have absolutely nothing to base these feelings on. But I do have them... I don’t feel good about Stackhouse.

Can someone more informed tell me why he is an exciting candidate? Just telling me he did well in the G-League means nothing. We see legendary coaches from college and other league flame out on the NBA all the time. Talk to me about his system and such.

Why don't you do what many of us did and watch the in depth behind the scenes footage of him coaching and read up on what he has done in the G League that has made him a top candidate for an NBA job?

The writing was on the wall from the moment new management was hired that he likely wouldn’t make it beyond year 1.

That said, I wish we could get Stan back but that won’t ever happen with Martins being here.

I don’t care about him being a top NBA coaching candidate. I care about him being a top Orlando Magic coaching candidate.

I want to hear from people here, who know and care about the Magic, why he is a good fit for us right now.

I dont think Stackhouse would be the guy. If you look at the path we are going now, we’re trying to get proven people. I wouldnt be surprised if Stack becomes Assistant.
