Frazier and Sessions were never going to play anyways because Sato had the backup 1 and some 2 minutes. Wall is an automatic 35+ mpg, probably 40 so there aren't many minutes available. My guess is he'll play with Sato more to push the tempo.

I'm guessing we don't have any kind of option on Lawson for next year (anyone know otherwise?). So, he'll go out & have a monster series vs. Toronto & be responsible for getting us to R2 again, where we'll lose again.

Whereupon Ernie will go to Ted & say, "see... it's all good."

Hey, maybe it means Sato plays on the wing and we play some small ball???

Wall Lawson
Beal Sato
Oubre Sato
Porter Morris
Gortat Mahinmi

Yeah right, it probably just means Sato gets benched and we see Lawson and Meeks backcourt

Nope.

It means the former, not the latter.

This is what you've been advocating for.

Enjoy.

*We traded a 2nd round pick for Fraizer - PG
* We sign Ramon Sessions - PG
* We sign Ty Lawson - PG

How can this be viewed as anything other than more incompetent bumbling by Ernie Grunfeld? Sure, Ty will most-likely be better than Sessions & Fraizer, but look at how we got here. We should have had Christian Wood as our small ball Center to run with Wall, not 4 PGs

EG strikes again, trying to sell hope or just confuse us even more while he attempts to make an excuse for when the season ends.

I like him better than Sessions or Frazier as well.

The only other name I would have rather heard is Jared Sullinger.

The dude is still fast and can push the tempo but the timing is awful.

I think it's Oubre insurance b/c he's been so bad lately. If Oubre no shows in the playoff I think the plan is to have Sato eat his minutes and hopefully run Lawson at PG (and not Sessions or Frazier).

I agree the timing is awful and I have no idea why they picked Sessions over Lawson in the first place. It would have been nice to get Lawson in here a lot earlier.
Lawson and Jared Sullinger about 4 or 5 weeks ago, approximately when they signed Sessions, would have been better.

Ty Lawson? Now?

It makes total sense. We have no front court. So we sign a third back up 6' PG with no practice or game time to prepare him.

Man, Ernie is so far ahead of us none of us have any idea what he's going to do next... the master of deception.

The Wizards are always tinkering with the point guard position.

Trey Burke
Brandon Jennings
Tim Frazier
Ramon Sessions
Ty Lawson

They never tinker around by adding a big man that could actually benefit the roster.

Ty Lawson is a #SoWizards pickup. He might be fine if he still has more gas in the tank -- and I'm certainly fine with less PT for Odi Meeks. But the Lawson pickup is par for the course:

- Relying on a late-season transaction to make up for an mistake in the offseason that was obvious at the time? Check. Cf. Bogdanovich for the terrible Nicholson signing, Andre Miller to cover for the terrible Maynor signing, Jennings to cover for the terrible Burke trade and Thornton signing, etc. This year, we traded a pick to get unwanted Frazier and gave silly money to Meeks, so naturally we've been scrambling to find bench backcourt scoring ever since.

- Prioritizing signing a guy "with local ties"? Check. Cf. Blake, Dixon, Porter, Gooden (living in Bethesda at the time), Roger Mason Jr., Mike Hall (GW), KD (ok, that's defensible), Mike Scott... am I missing anyone else? I've never seen a professional franchise so obsessed with finding players with local ties. We don't see San Antonio going out of their way

- Fielding an imbalanced roster? Check. Sure, why not walk into the postseason with *5* PGs? I assume either Sessions or Frazier will get cut, but still. Either way, this feels familiar. Didn't we carry 5 PFs on a roster once?
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

If they don’t play permanent small ball against garbage ass Ibaka, I’m done with this team.

He's a very good player still, who should be a starter in the league. He knows his limitations, constantly attacks the rim and creating good opportunities to his teammates on their preferred spots. An excellent decision maker. Just a year ago he had an awesome stint at Sacramento but ended up China because of his reputation of alcohol abuse. Otherwise he can be a PG of a playoff team.

Agreed. Porter or Oubre can guard Ibaka because he doesn't post up. If we go small, we take away Toronto's advantage of frontcourt depth. We have better wings, let's force them to play a game with a lot of wing players.

It'll work out real well if Lawson turns out to be some semblance of the player he was in Denver. That would free up Sato to play all his minutes at forward and we could basically run with a rotation of Wall, Beal, and Lawson at guard and Porter, Oubre and Sato at forward.

 I particularly like the attacking the rim part. The Zards desperately need more of that.

you said it, our depth becomes real nice if we throw Sato, Oubre, and Otto at them at the 2-3-4 spots for 48 minutes, hell, I don't even have an issue with throwing Sato out at PF, he did it in Europe at times. Wall, Beal, and Lawson handle the two guard spots and all we need is competent starter level play from any combination of Morris/Gortat/Mahinmi, salary be damned.

to be honest, I'm not even scared of Jonas posting up if you used Otto and Morris at the 5, I know everyone else thinks it's a crazy idea, but I'm trying to get my best players on the court as much as possible in any scenario if i'm Brooks.

Hopefully it slides Sato to the 2/3 and Lawson gets the minutes as the backup 1.
