Nuggets' Best Defensive Guards

Post#1 » by NuggetsWY » Thu Apr 12, 2018 11:27 pm

Malone's end-of-game offense-defense substitutions puzzle me and especially when G.Harris was out injured it became ridiculous in my opinion. Am I totally off base here? I think the Nuggets' best defensive guards are:

1. G.Harris - hands down - period - end of discussion
2. Beasley - although we haven't seen enough to be certain
3. Murray - has a lot to learn, but he hustles
4. Barton - can't fight through or over a pick and often looks confused
5. D.Harris - seems to use the mind-over-movement approach

I think you need to list Torrey Craig here. He can guard SF and SG equally and I'd put him above Harris.
Craig
G. Harris
Murray
Beasley
D. Harris
Barton

I go

Harris
Beasley
Murray
D Harris
Barton

With Craig in between Harris and Beasley if you want to include him.

Harris but he has lots of flaws as the defender.

Well, I won't argue with you much on that but if we are just looking at defending guards, I'd list Harris ahead of Craig. If we are talking about total defense; I don't know. Harris has proven himself, Craig is still relatively new and learning, but it'd be tough to argue when he can cover both forward slots fairly well. I think he'd have more trouble with PGs than Harris does. How about this?

PG - Harris, Craig
SG - close to equal
SF - Craig, Harris
PF - Craig
Center - neither

Yeah, I hear ya and won't argue about the D.Harris/Barton sequence. I only put Barton ahead of D.Harris because he gets a few spectacular blocks but other than that, their defense is similar with perhaps Barton getting lost a little more, so I can see where you are coming from.

Yeah, I guess we should ignore all the former players now on TV that say he's one of the best young guards on defense.

Which former players??? He still cant keep up his player in front of him with regularity , I don't need former players to tell me something , when I have my own eyes.
