I would disagree about him making a difference. At least he could block shots, score a little and it's better than Bender/Smith or Herard/Smith or my God, Tomaic/Smith.
I have a little hope for Tomaic as a backup because he can shoot. But he's so raw because he didn't grow up playing against any competition. Smith might actually end up playing some center, because he's a shot-blocker - in the Joe Smith mold. And we'll see what happens with recruiting Porter. He seems like a more well-rounded player than Owens.
It's hard to have any confidence right now in Turge in getting transfers this late that were actually productive in college.
