Awful half for CJ and Dame, combined 1-15 from the field.

His post game looks so smooth. Impressed by that Dirk fadeaway he had in the first.

I'm guessing watching Kelly-O's defense is equally as enticing.

I do not miss post-Big 3 Rondo.

Playoff Rondo is **** eating up the Blazers.

Best Rondo since the 2011 Celtics back when he was getting like 15 assist a game with Shaq.

IMO if you were going to go for the quick 2 there, I would have had us go full court for it and save the timeout. then we foul again if we make it and see if they can hit the fts, get the ball and call timeout. I think worst case (after we got it to one) if they go up 3 again THEN use the last timeout to advance with about 5 seconds left and take a 3 to tie.

12 seconds left 1 timeout
With only 12 seconds and 1 timeout EVERYONE expects you to call the timeout. Pels will take a breath after that made ft, just in time to get it in quickly and go. I would have called lillard and mccollum over before pels first free throw and said if he makes it, we aren't calling timeout we are going to inbound it to one of you and you just go and try for a quick 2. Then before Pels second ft, I call the guy over who is going to inbound it and tell him to try and get it to CJ or Dame and if you cant only then call the timeout. I'd try to force it and use about 6 seconds or less, hopefully Dame or CJ get us 2 (or 3 by foul or shot) and then when they try to inbound I pressure b4 its in or take the quick foul as soon as it enters if we are not tied. 5 seconds left and I'm hopefully down only 1 and they go to the line, make or miss we are down 3 at worst. I then call timeout to advance and go for 3 then. Now, if we got them to miss one of those fts and we are down 2, we have 5 seconds to tie or 3 to win.

I know, not enough time and you should have taken the timeout when its 12 seconds but I would not have because my team would have worked on a situation like that many times in practice already. Go big or go home! :D

Jrue has always been underrated in this league. Guy can do a bit of everything and does it well.

Yeah - Rondo was a lot quicker and more explosive back then. A much more dangerous defender and scorer than he is today. But his passing, handle, patience and nose for the ball all still pretty remarkable.

I'd contest that its a blessing if we can push Philly to 5 games. They are legit and young.

Whether we want to admit it or not, stating we have a better future than Philly with this roster may not be true. Danny sees this..expect more moves.

Simmons with Embiid, Fultz and shooters when these guys hit their prime>our core imo. I think some of us are seriously underselling how good they will be.

Danny will make moves though and I think we'll get it going in the future, but Philly's future is just as legit as ours

Bulls Rondo picked our defense apart last year.

Would have been interesting to see if he had both DMC and AD to play with.

Kelly was only heat that showed up and played..If his teammates passed him the ball would have went for 35 and kept then in game.

Honestly, rooting for the Pels to win this cuz of so many different factors. Rondo. Been following Jrue since he came into the league. E'Twuan carving out a spot in the league. And last but not least watching AD play basketball is amazing.

Too bad they will have no shot against the Warriors, but that was always going to be the case. The Blazers are a good matchup for they (like the Pels) are so undersized. NOLA starts Rondo, Jrue, and E'Twuan at the 1-3 spots and the Blazers have a small backcourt. You gotta worry about ET at the 3 but you don't really worry about him sitting on the outside raining open jumpers.

Fast forward to the Warriors (if they make it there) and they have to guard Klay and KD at the 2 and 3. Jrue's a great defender and can at least slow one of those guys down. But the mismatches are all over the place. Still fun to watch Rondo throw AD lobs though.

Rondo played a great game. NO would not win a game with Rosier playing and no Rondo. With Smart might win one game. Then again Portland could just sweep them. With Rondo healthy they have chance to advance. Imho
I still think Portland should win it but I would not bet against healthy Rondo.
