He’s a top 10 center out of all the centers in the playoffs that’s for sure. Man turns it on in the postseason.

He’s had a couple of big postseason games but overall his numbers haven’t been any better than the regular season and his advanced stats are worse.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

All not so athletic players get exposed in the playoffs.

Endurance players are favored in regular season games, but in playoffs games, athletic players push their body to the limit and can make a difference that stiffs can't make.

James Harden is kinda stiff too. CP3 not, but he is short, so all this top 10 and MVP stuff gets a better meaning in playoffs games.

It was just 1 game, but yeah, while his offense was great, his defense was just as bad, if not worse.
My top 10 he would not make. Great backup center though!

He can be that if he wants. There's little value in being in the lower half of the top 10 when it comes to centers.

I misread this is "Why Kelly Olynyk Isn't a Top 10 Center" and thought: do we really need this thread?

He has easily been the Heat's most important player this season. Consider these numbers:

6th among centers in RPM(#3 in offensive RPM)
Has a BPM score of 3(the impact of a star)
The Heat with KO on the floor outscore opponents by 7.4 points per 100 possessions.

Also, in the month of March he's averaging 13.5 PPG 6.4 REB 4.7 AST to 1.6 TO a game.

1) He doesnt even start on his own team
2) the season is like 6 months long, and there are like 70 games played outside the month of march
3) tons of centers give you 13/6 for the season, let alone the month
4) defense and the ability to roll to the hoop and force teams to stay at home in the paint are big for centers today

its hard not to easily also put the following well ahead of olynk

Deandre Jordan 15/12/1
Andre Drummond 15/16/1.5
Clint Capella 13/11/2
Marc Gasol 17/8/4/1
Jusaf Nurkic 14/9/1.5

and then you have these guys who were also all probably better or hybrid like olynk:

ibaka, lopez, Dwight, myles turner, valacuinas, horford, steven adams, ...

Capela is a system player and DJ is one-dimensional.

one dimensional?

elite finsiher who gives you 15 ppg.

elite rebounder who gives you 12 ppg

plays above average to good defense and gives you 1.5 blocks a game.

how is that 1 dimension?

"Cant shoot from 3"= is now the new "One dimensional"

Capela plays within his role and he's been F**king great this season. He seems one dimensional because all he needs to do on offense os attack the offensive boards, roll, and play D. and he's been great. Nobody expects him to start getting a 10-15 plays run through him every game.

Yeah appearantly being able to consistently get dunks is now a bad thing. and blocking shots and rebounding arent part of the game?

capella needs to stop with all those dunks, get behind the 3 point line and space the floor

The premise of this thread is a logical fallacy within itself.

The burden of proof is on the OP to explain why Olynyk IS a top 10 C, not the other way around.

Olynyk does have a good amount of potential, he just doesn't put it all together. He doesn't seem any different than the player Ive watched in Boston the previous for seasons. Also if he were a top anything he'd be playing thirty a night.....

People are actually entertaining this absurd idea? He's a role player not a bloody all star...

He played well today, a little to soft inside offensively at times.
