Hmm..

What makes Biid special is he can also shoot 3s, challenge shooters, protect the rim and be a go a go to guy down the stretch. Thats like having olynyk, whiteside and wade combined.

I dont believe the narrative that team is better without Biid.

Once we stop shooting at ridiculous rate, you'd go to this thread and discussing when is Embiid available. That I bet

Just heard Joel will be out tomorrow. He's very upset and did everything he could to convince Colangelo.

Colangelo believes we are a better team without Embiid. Colangelo will keep him out for the entire playoffs lol.

We won game 1. I think they would rather proceed with caution so long as we are winning at home, rather then bring him back and have him jump into the fire mixing it up with Whiteside and Olynyk and risk re-injury.

I was thinking game 3-4 as a best case scenario....hopefully thats the plan, to try and take care of business at home and then trot him out on the road presenting a new set of matchups/adjustments for the Heat to have to make.

Guess we will see. I do know that theres 0 chance we are holding him out because we are "better off".

If he's ready to go theres no reason to pussyfoot around. This is what it's all about. We are probably favored to make the ECF at this point

I think that it is the right move. Let him practice with the mask for a few days, and come back on Thursday.

Mgmt should be making this decision.

More concerned with Biid being upset than him not being able to play

There is no such thing as being better with out Embiid.

He is arguably the best low post defender, and rebounder in the league, and EVERY team that has that is better than without that.

On top of that, he can guard in space, shoot the 3, and is a gifted scorer as well. The only thing that could be said is that maybe our offense is better when 25% of his usual post touches become fast shots from the perimeter. The rest of his post touches would still be a strength of the team.

Against Boston, and Cleveland Embiid will be critical, and will be a match up night mare for both.

I’m starting to think that we have a real chance of making it to the finals this year, and I can’t believe that I am saying that.

Lebron is still the favorite, but the combination of Simmons and Embiid is overwhelming.

Well its funny to see how quickly people have forgotten how much an affect Jojo has on a game. If your a team with anyone in your frontline who can't shoot 3s well, the lane is closed like a lane getting mopped by that machine at Walmart. We seem to forget how scared people were to go to the rim with Jojo in there, like we have anyone playing right now with that effect on anyone.

Take him out the lane, that dude better be able to guard him on the other end.....there isn't really a dude in the league that can do both of those things. Easy to take Whitehead out the game cause he has no offense, try that on Jojo and see what happens.

We aren't talking about John Wall here, which some of you seem to be thinking. Jojo has never dominated the ball for 15 seconds on the shot clock, sure he has slowed things down a lil, but not as much as the year has gone along. Plus, he isn't dumb, he sees whats going on out there and we could see him trusting his teamates even more now when he comes back.

Against the Heat, I'm starting to think we might not need Embiid, but he will still make us better for sure as long as his jump shot is not completely affected by the mask. He can still stretch Whiteside out and Simmons can run regardless. Just gives us a go-to-guy in the half court.

Jojo makes the game easier for everyone on the court, he is needed every time we take the floor.

Don't believe the hype, his D alone changes the game for us considerably. He's paying attention to all this, he's on social media too much not to pay attention. I think all the noise will make him trust his teamates even more, which will be huge for us going forward.

The two things that have the best ability to make everyone that plays with them better are a dominant center, and a dominant pass first point guard.

We literally have the best young example of each of those things in the entire league. Outside of those things, you just need role players that can shoot and defend, and then ideally someone that can get their own shot.

We have everything that you need to contend for a long time other than experience. I’m really starting to think that if we can’t get George in the off season that we just bring the same team back for another year.

At this rate. I don’t even think embiid plays game 3.

I think sixers will try to stretch keeping embiid out as long as possible.

If sixers up 2-0. I don’t see them bringing back embiid in game 3. If up 3-0. They will just let embiid sit out game 4.

They want embiid fully healed as possible.

I was with you til the end, we need to add a big free agent if possible, and Bron is that also. I know we are on a high after winning like that in game one but lets not get ahead of ourselves when upgrades are available. JJ, Ersan, and Marco are all 30 and above themselves, so Bron being 33 is irrelevant when it comes to them.

There are several free agents available that could help, at the right price.

What is this nonsense about us being better without Biid?
Geez, don't.

Hey man,

Thanks for the info. Did he not clear the protocol, or are they wanting him to heal more? Did the doctor's not clear him, and then he went to Colangelo?

Does it look like he'll definitely play game 3, or does it seem like they are going to continue stretching this out until we lose a game?

Can anyone tell me the O and D rating with Embiid during our 8 game win streak and the O and D rating since he got hurt?

Embiids game is built for a tough playoff series. Sorry but the whole launching 3s ain't gonna work against Toronto or Indiana. Yeah I have written off the Cavs.

I think it's a combination of being overly cautious and getting him more prepared to play. He cleared to protocol and needs to ramp up his conditioning. Of course he will want to play but they aren't going to put him out there after two weeks of little to no conditioning. I would expect him to play game 3.
