Phish Tank wrote:I'm pretty sure Isiah was given full reign to do whatever he wanted while he was around.... it just ended up that Larry Brown messed with him that one season he was with us.

Donnie also had full control 2 of the 3 years.... that is until the Melo trade, supposedly. Though Walsh seems to take full credit for everything.....

Grunwald was a CAA puppet more than a Dolan puppet.

Mills was a placeholder until Phil.

Phil had full control until he decided he wanted to buy out Melo.

Mills/Perry seem to have full control.

Don't really see where Dolan has meddled much recently outside of what I mentioned...

None of these people ever had 'full control'. If they did, they would have been allowed to get rid of certain people who have been employed forever at MSG, like Allan Houston or the medical staff. Attempted moves to get rid of said long-time employees were met with resistance from Dolan. Did you forget when Dolan tried to sign Isiah Thomas against Walsh's wishes as a 'consultant' when he was still coaching at FIU?

Mills wasn't a placeholder. He was legitimately brought back, which is why he is still here now.

Mills is the ultimate Dolan yes man. Having been around forever, it's hard to take anything he says seriously and definitely hard to have confidence in a man who presided over Layden, Isiah and Phil regimes.

Mills and Perry have full control? That's a laugh. The owner had one of the most famous Knicks thrown out of the arena, then humiliated him by bringing up his personal problems? He's going to step aside while one guy has had every job at MSG including hot dog vendor and a bumpkin who worked for the Pistons and Kings?

Clearly some people in this forum aren't aware of Dolan's mentality and actions.

Dolan isn't as bad as he once was, but yea he is still the problem. He just does not get it.

If you think nothing good can happen for the Knicks while Dolan is still owner then why do you watch the Knicks. That's masochism to the next level/ borderline insanity. While Dolan is bad in the past 3 years he hasn't been the worst owner in the league bad. Ask Suns, Magic or Hornet fans how they feel about their owners.

mills signed tim hardaway to that contract...ya man...there were much better signings esp when they already had courtney lee at SG, and needed a SF

aside from that, everything's been solid aside from wasting Willy H

It’s obvious Morey was referring to Dolan. What’s even more obvious is that Dolan plays Wizard of Oz than people think...

Do people really think PJax had full automony in decision making? Do people really think Jeff Horn was a PJax hire? Resigning Melo? Maybe just maybe PJax went off his meds, but there were a consecutive string of head scratching decisions from Day 1. Those headscratchers continued with THJ signing and some of the crap this season, but PJax wasn’t around. Common denominator has been Dolan and his puppet Mills.

Morey might be mocking Dolan but he LOVES the deals the trades Knicks bite on. See Marcus Camby deal.

I don't think any star player will EVER sign with the Knicks while Dolan is owner. Players are smart and they talk to each other... they all know how toxic the organization has been.

This.

He should have gone after Jerry West to run the whole show 20 years ago, or 15 years ago, or 10....

But he wanted to be the head honcho when it comes to making big decisions.

And once he realized he wasn't smart enough to be the true head guy, he hired, finally, a guy to take full control.

Except the guy he chose had zero experience as a front office exec.

I didn't want to part with draft picks but, man, I really wanted Sam Presti to once and for all have a top notch basketball man with ability to draft and develop talent. :(
