I wouldn't do it with top 2. IMO you just can't pass on doncic or ayton for a guy in love who will be in the decline of his career by the time guys like booker and jackson enter their prime.

Now if they fall to 3 or 4 then maybe. Because as I posted earlier that next group is very close... and my guy carter might be there :)

Doncic looked more powerful / quick in today's game really hadn't seen him able to drive at speed like that consistantly.

He looks like a Pick and Roll master at 19 and will be able to play some off ball catch and shoot with Booker.

Sarver picked a good game to visit.

All these great Doncic highlights getting me excited. But I just don't see McD taking him. I think Sarver is there for due diligence.

Wait...doesn't he pay people for "due diligence"?

Not worth getting excited about a player until we know our position. A lot of us will be extremely disappointed if, after all this research on Ayton and Doncic, we land the 3 or 4 spot

No, that is horrible. The trade you based it off of was:

Kevin Love/#8 to Memphis for Chandler Parsons/#2

So why would we pay more (Adding in the #31) when we would be giving up a way way way way way way less toxic of a contract? Parsons is trash. I love that SJAX called him out on not having any real love for the game and just sitting back collecting a check. He is owed $50M over the next two seasons......and you replaced that with Knights #30M and still decided that we would need to add in the #31? No, not even close. I wouldnt touch that even with the 2nd taken out. You are basically dropping down 6 spots in the draft to pay what would be a disgruntled Kevin Love $25M for a season before he leaves in FA. Thats just utterly gross and why i cant get behind any Love trade.

Who thinks we would welcome a trade to the Suns (Even if we have a bright future or not) after spending the past 4 seasons in Cleveland, always competing for a title? That would be taking a huge step backwards for him. He would be his mopey self here and leave the first chance he got. He doesnt have 4-5 more years for us to mature enough to be a champion contender. He's already at the top now. So that would be us throwing away the highest pick we have had in decades just to dump and extra season of Knight, which really isnt dumping an extra season as we would pretty much be paying Knights 2 year salary to Love in that one season (Ok, a little more, but still the point is valid).

I will be disappointed we won't get that surefire A1 prospect but I like Trae and Bamba enough to not let it bother me for too long.

I like Bamba a lot. I think he's another Texas center that was misused by Shaka Smart and will excel in the NBA. His mobility and ability to defend on the perimeter are pretty underrated, his defensive potential is game changing with his length, shot blocking instincts, and mobility. He'll need some time though, he needs to add a good bit of weight before he's much of a threat in the post.

Bamba is very slow reading things on the court. That is his main problem. Shaka can hardly be the cause of that. He will bulk up eventually, that's not an issue.

The thing is Bamba is a 1 man zone. Even if he is slow reading things his length allows him to make up for a lot of it. I am not in love with Bamba (I think I have him 6th personally), but I am not worried about him on the defensive end at all. I am more worried about offensively if he will develop enough to be a factor.

Also, I like Khyri Thomas in the 2nd round. Potential elite defender.

My issue with the "Bulking up" aspect of Bamba is that he needs to add around 40lbs. Thats a lot! As it is what makes him a great shot blocker is his athleticism and quickness, 2 things that adding a bunch of weight could (And in my opinion will) hinder. I dont think he will be the same player in the NBA with the added weight that we see of him in college.

Then you add in him being slow at reading things on the court, and he will no longer have that quickness to him that allowed him to somewhat recover from the fact that he is behind from reading a player slower than he should.

So yes, the weight really could be a major issue. But then again i could also be wrong i guess, only time will tell.

Bamba is a typical mid-first type prospect - physically very enticing, but still pretty raw and just learning the game. Like Gobert/Drummond/Adams or even Gafford. Those are the guys you grab in a heartbeat when you're picking 10th or 15th, but it is hard to justify the choice when you're sitting in the top5. The same goes for Jackson and Bagley. Far too many concerns to be comfortable with either of them in the top4. If you have Mitch Robinson available there at MIA pick, why would you take a gamble on Bamba? I just want us to stay away from Bagley/Jackson/Bamba with our pick, although Mo would be easiest one to swallow if it eventually comes to that.

You guys talk about weight with bamba, and I agree he will have to put on some weight but guys like Marcus Camby, Tyson Chandler, Whiteside are all examples of skinny dudes have success in the NBA. I don't think weight is as much of an issue in today's NBA. And then theres the fact that he lives in the Tree canopys.
