Mark Heissler’s negativity

Post#1 » by Roscoe Sheed » Sun Apr 8, 2018 8:19 pm

I don’t have the direct link, but I read an article by him in the Orange County Register that was very condescending to the clippers- basically saying that the clippers have gone back to where they belong- irrelevancy.

He made no mention of all the injuries, the 35 different starting line ups, etc. It was a total hit piece.

Seemed very uncalled for. What’s up with this guy?

Seems like the typical, the Lakers have rings, you’re the little brother mumbo jumbo.

Beyond stupid to say this organization hasn’t said where it’s going. They’ve done exactly that in a large press release and subsequent media after that. The moves should make it clear as well.

Other than that. He’s blowing a lot of hot air. It’s sports. If the front office is successful, we will have the last laugh...and so far, I tend to trust this front office.

Heisler can't write his annual letter to Sterling anymore (remember those?), so I guess this is the best he can come up with as a replacement shtick. Yawn.

The Clippers have yet to actually say what they’re doing

BRB literally hosted an event called The Playbook at The Shrine Auditorium and did exactly that - as much as an organization can do without giving away trade secrets.

You know there was a lot of people patiently waiting for their moment to say that. It's gotta been killin them to hold it back all these years.

Clippers have been a playoff team, a top 4 seed and a contender, even if a lower level one the past 4 seasons. They were in the borderline of being a top contender, and with a better front office like the team has now, better personell and cap decisions, and of course health, they could have done more. Nothing is said then. One injury prone transition season and something like this is coming out of the woodwork. This stuff never means anything to me, I usually just find it comical. The writer is the one that looks dumb.

Heisler is a Laker dick-rider and has been for decades; I'll never root for someone to lose their jobs, but I smiled a bit when he and that bitter old man Total Jerkoff Simers got fired from the Times years ago.

The Clipps have to be firing on all cylinders to get any love in LA. If we're not a powerhouse, then outside of the fanbase, nothing good will be said about the team whatsoever. Its been like that for some time now. Hell Mason & Ireland - the two b*tches on espn 710am still advocate for them to move to Seattle for cryin' out loud even though LA is a NBA stronghold and even Laker fans have no problems with the Clippers playing in LA since a lot of them go to Clipper games on the low :banghead:

which shows what unknowledgeable clowns they are
god I hate them

Ballmer knows that having the franchise in LA makes it worth a half a billion dollars more than if it were in Seattle

Asked how he appraised his $2 billion bid for the Clippers in 2014 -- then a record for an NBA team -- Ballmer said he relied on both quantitative analysis and intelligence of the marketplace and the pool of potential buyers.

"I looked at what the cash flows would be, and what kind of multiple you'd put on," Ballmer said. "A team in L.A. is literally beachfront real estate. It's worth a lot more than teams everywhere else. Because if you ever get a foreign buyer later on -- foreign buyers only want to buy in a few cities, which I knew because it was part of the pressure on the price. There was a lurking foreign buyer, if you will, for the team. But ultimately, I knew what the price was in the good old-fashioned way: I knew what the next bidder wanted to pay."

It is very irritating. It’s like nobody actually knows anything about the team or their season.

I was watching the local abc broadcast and
Norm Nixon and Michael cooper claimed that the lakers had a better season than the clippers. I can somewhat understand because some of their young players developed, but Fukizaki added that the lakers had a lot of injuries- justifying their worse record than the clippers- he was apparently completely ignorant of the fact that the clippers lost a lot more games to injury than the lakers

I seriously don't understand what Laker fans would get out of their rival team leaving the city. I mean, would they really enjoy watching other fans lose their team? Can any of you lurking Laker fans explain that? Why are you gjys so fascinated with the Clippers leaving LA?

Most Laker fans, at least the ones I know, don't mind the Clipps in LA at all. From a basketball fans perspective, its **** awesome having to NBA teams here in LA. Hell we almost got a 3rd team here when the Kings were kicking the tires on moving to Anaheim. LA could support a 3rd team here just like NY probably could support a 3rd baseball team.

I don't understand people who still talk about Ballmer moving the Clippers to Seattle. A big part of the Clippers' franchise value is being in Los Angeles, even Ballmer isn't going to buy (and arguably overpay) for a LA franchise and vaporize a good deal of what he paid for by moving to Seattle.

The Milwaukee Bucks sold for only $550M, part of the conditions of the sale was keeping the franchise there. But Ballmer could have way overpaid for the Bucks and moved them, and it would be far cheaper than buying and moving the Clippers.
