If I'm Philly, I wouldn't even want LeBron. They have such a good thing going and he would completely change the dynamic of that team. He's not coming in and adjusting his playing style for Simmons and Embiid, it would be the other way around. It's weird to not want LeBron on your roster, but he would completely hijack that team.

If I were them, I'd go hard after Paul George. He would allow Simmons and Emiid to continue running that team and playing to their strengths while giving them a legit third star. Also holy sht would they have a ton of defensive pieces to throw at Golden State. Simmons, George, Covington, Mikal, Embiid, etc... they would be a defensive juggernaut.

I have a hard time imagining LeBron not enhancing team play. He's getting older so he would step back. But yeah Paul George could be a better fit for them. I'm rooting for them in the playoffs. They're easy to like and man, first playoff win in 6 years for them. It must feel great. Plus the Eagles just won a Superbowl finally.

To be fair, they did waste a 3rd and 6th pick on Okafor and Noel. They just kept the tank alive and were more forward thinking while we were adding Al Jefferson and Marvin Williams.

They tanked twice as long though. MJ was trying to clean the Bobcat stank away so I understand why he cut the rebuild short. And with the benefit of hindsight we know that Cho would have wasted those extra years of rebuilding anyway.

Thankfully the franchise is in a better position now so the next rebuild should not get cut short. Lets just hope Mitch can hire better talent evaluators for this go-round.

Not to mention the draft classes were much stronger for their rebuild. When we missed out on Anthony Davis, our rebuild window was slammed shut.

This years class, and next years class has potential franchise changes. If we go rebuild, getting into the top 8 (top 6 would be better) of this draft and getting RJ barrett next year would change this franchise

They added a line out beyond the 3 point line ... I think it was 3'.

The idea was to create more space since both Embiid and Simmions work best inside, so guys like Redick are supposed to float further back from the 3 point line, ideally drawing their defender with them, opening space. It's not so much that they are supposed to shoot from that far back, but that they are dinged in practice for hanging out inside that line.

If you watch the Hornets guys like Marv hug the 3 point line and it creates some space, but not a ton the way Philadelphia is. There was a great video in the link showing the piratical effect of this in game.

It turns out the Sixers believe so much in the power of 3-point shooting that a 3-point line wasn’t enough for them. Which is why they added a 4-point line.

There is no such thing as a 4-point line in the NBA. Except in Philadelphia. What they call a 4-point line, the light gray semi-circle exactly five feet behind the traditional white line in their training complex, is such an essential part of the Sixers’ unlikely success this season that when coach Brett Brown was asked to explain its origins he invited a reporter into his office and took a seat.

“When you look at modern-day offense, and you try to play a style that I believe in and have for a while,” Brown said, “you have to space the floor, you have to shoot threes and you have to create room.”

Which is why the 4-point line exists in Philadelphia.

“We want to take it to a higher level and space further,” Brown said. “We want to stretch the court more.”

The Sixers decided the only way they could artificially create space around Simmons and Embiid was to complement them with shooters who unclogged the court.

The 4-point line was their Drano.

Redick (42%), Saric (39%) and Covington (37%), in addition to mid-season acquisitions Marco Belinelli (39%) and Ersan Ilyasova (36%), position themselves several feet behind the 3-point line so they can step into their shots while making way for Simmons and Embiid.

To be clear, their shots from behind the 4-point line are not worth four points. The Sixers are inventive. They’re not insane.

“It’s usually a scolding thing,” Brown said, “more than a reward thing.”

Well, Frank is panning out. The game is tilting towards his skillset. I love watching Saric. What a find by the Sixers. Embiid, Simmons and Fultz were also excellent draft choices.

The whole Kawhi Leonard saga is bizarre. Is the guy a prima donna & ungrateful for all he has received from Coach Popovich and the Spurs, or does he have a legitimate complaint that the Spurs did not look after his injuries properly?
