If I didn't just go to Seattle over the weekend and drop a ton of money then I would have bought these. Maybe in a month or two. Or even later when I can play ball again.

Those shoes are pretty ugly.. and I love basketball shoes. Never though any Kobe’s or Lebrons were nice. I’ve always thought Kyries are nice.

It's sobering to think how far away we are. We all have faith in Booker but he hasn't proved he is franchise-changer. At best, it will be years before we are in contention. Hopefully we don't mess up the coaching hire and draft picks.

Why do you say that? If anything, the success of the Sixers has given me renewed optimism that tanking isn't such a long process. Sure they took Embiid 4 years ago, but they got Simmons two drafts ago who has been instrumental in their success this season. Booker, Jackson, and hopefully Ayton should give us a new found confidence moving forward. We got the assets and cap room to make moves this off-season so I'm fairly excited. Though, it's mostly dependent on where we draft this year. If we end up drafting 3 or 4, then that really sets us back.

There's three things that we're depending highly on if we don't want this rebuild to be an even much longer process IMO. One is getting this coaching hire right. It has to be the next Snyder/Brett Brown/Atkinson type hire where you know this guy is the one who will eventually take us to contention. Two is hitting on this draft and getting a really good All Star caliber (down the road) player with our pick. Three is the development of Booker & Jackson. Both need to go loooooong ways defensively and offensively Jackson needs to work on shooting and ball handling while Booker needs to work on passing.

For sure. Four would be the breakout of Dragon Bender or Marquese Chriss. Five would be to gather the right veterans to help our team. That would put us over the top and I'd feel confident that we'd sneak into the playoffs.

We REALLY need players to improve this offseason. Booker never really became better than avg efficiency and a net positive overall until this season, and due to his lack of defense, it's still barely a net positive. I do understand he faced double teams and should be able to take another major step offensively IF we can put decent players around him, but he really needs to at least become close to an average defense player.

Jackson is still far from an avg starter, but that's fine as a rookie. He obviously needs to DRASTICALLY increase his efficiency and especially become a far better shooter or it will be tough to play him and win unless he is surrounded by 4 really good shooters or 3 elite shooters.

Warren same as above...needs to hit that 3 and continue to improve on D.

Bender/Chriss obviously need to take major strides, or AT LEAST one of them.

I'm ok with where the younger guys are right now. Booker is still younger than a guy like Mitchell and the other guys are all young and have played few minutes and on a bad team with a bad coach.

But Philly hit a homerun with two picks and those rookies contributed immediately.

Plus, they would try out TONS of draft picks/d leaguers every year and struck gold with guys like Covington who is among the best defenders in the league and to a lesser extent with Saric. Fultz could also be major.

We obviously do need to nail this draft pick. I have no idea who will help the most. My gut tells me the point guards would pay the most immediate dividends because it opens up the game for everyone and gives them easy looks...and find a savvy vet to play up front and maybe a scrappy tough defender big later in the draft like Gary Clark, and maybe a high upside guy like Mitchell Robinson with our mid pick or hopefully a guy like Robert Williams if he somehow slides....though that's very unlikely.

Probably need a solid vet PG. Obviously need a solid coach though.

But we need SO many things to go right to take a big step, so even if only half of these things happen by the beginning of next season, I'll at least be happy and hopefully the other things happen in time.

When will Booker hit 8,000 career points?
