How nice would it be if the Heat knocked off the Sixers? I'd feel so much better about going up against them in the 2nd round.

It seems like the Spurs are the only team in the league who still know how to throw an entry pass into the low post. It was cringe-worthy seeing the Celts/Bucks game and watching numerous missed opportunities by both teams to get the ball to a guy on the block.

What if Sixers and Cavs both get bounced in the first round? and the Celtics even with injuries get to the finals. Then Hayward returns and we beat the Warriors 8-) Ok I need to stop dreaming but hey things don’t look too shabby right now

With the recent update on how good Kyrie feels post surgery, lets bring them all back?

But no they aren't playing this year. (I sound like Brad)

But next year....... 8-)

I'd honestly just love for Sixers to lose so we have a good chance of making ECF if we can get out of round one. Even though I just joined this forum, the Sixers fans need to get off their high horse with the way they talk about their team and future.

I believe the Heat will win this series. These guys aren’t mature or experienced enough. The 16 game win streak where they mostly beat tanking teams gave them false hope and a big ego. I’m glad they came back down to earth and it will be interesting to see Spoelstra dismantle them even further back in Miami.

Spoelstra is a good coach. Well, this is the playoffs, you can't easily say Fo-fo-fo-fo after only game 1.

They rely heavily on Redick, Beli and Saric hitting those stupid 3 point shots off screens..Miami is the best built team in the East along with Boston to stop that kind of game. The only question was could they generate enough offense to build a lead? Wade answered that with a vintage game..

Ben Simmons is a terrific, terrific young player..but if he can't score without having to get 3 feet from the basket he will never be as good as people want him to be. Miami played him the way teams played Rondo in the halfcourt and he had nowhere to go..
WHAT THEY GON’ SAY NOW? ‎ THANK YOU TRUTH!

I'm not gonna lie, it does my heart good to see the Sixers get humbled like they did last night

It's nauseating because they haven't done anything....yet. When they actually win a series or 2 or 3 then the hype is warranted.

Yeah. This is what bothers me, too. Never in my life have I ever seen a team get THIS much hype before accomplishing anything. Not even the Thunder got this kind of press when they had Durant, Westbrook and Harden.

Not to mention the fact that Embiid is yet to even play a full season.

100% this.

I mean, Markelle Fultz just had a puff piece on ESPN talking about how he can help the Sixers this post season. Its bananas. Ironic that he followed that up with a terrible game that resulted in him being benched for the second half.

Yup, exactly and funny thing is Durant is probably better talent than either and a top 3 player for a while. Dude is a once in a lifetime type offensive talent who's been playing great defense, there's nothing Durant can't do.

We will see, time will tell.
Good assessment:

akhan786 wrote:You need 2 things to have a chance of winning a championship every year.

1) A system

2) Elite 1 on 1 talent

Having only one doesn't cut it in the later rounds of the playoffs. A system is invaluable because it increases your margin of error significantly so that you can consistently set up your elite talent to have the energy to finish the game if they need to. Elite 1 on 1 talent is the most expensive and valuable asset in the league. In the last 5 minutes of the biggest games, systems always breakdown. And this is when the stars shine which is by far my favorite part about this sport. Who can make a shot/play with near perfect defense on you almost every time down the floor? There are maybe only 4-5 players in the league at any given time that I would consider are Tier 1 in this category.

We have one of them. And we have a system. That's why Kyrie left the Cavs because he knew that they had no shot against a team with equal or better 1 on 1 talent AND a system. And to be honest that Cavs 2016 championship was an aberration. Kyrie and Bron had to go God-mode to do something that literally has never happened before and likely never will again.

This playoffs sucks because we have no Kyrie and Gordo, but I'm at least really encouraged that we are truly on the right path towards longterm consistent title contention.

*edited to add a 3rd thing you need to have a chance at winning --> Injury luck*

Great post. Yup we do have 1. & I think Hayward is & Tatum can get to the tier 2 of those players.

TBH the only reason why Cle didn't get smacked up in 5 games is cause Draymond was nut kicking. Dray plays game 6 that series is over.

I salivate at the thought of rolling out a cruchtime lineup of Irving Brown Hayward Tatum Horford next year. We're gonna be so ****** dirty I can't wait.

C's fan how old are you? Do you still play a lot of ball?

I'm 26. Obviously the amount of 3's taken & the ball movement are the biggest changes over the past decade. But a lowkey part of the game that has flat out been abolished is throwing an entry pass. I take pride in my passes so much. This HS generation is amazingly bad at them.

I'm 40. Don't play too much anymore. My body can't handle it.

And yeah, I get that the game has evolved, but the inability to throw an entry pass is just so bad right now. How hard is it to throw a bounce pass to a guy posting up? I guess part of this also falls on the guys posting up too. Seems like a lot of players nowadays don't know how to seal their guys off too, especially when they're being fronted.
