I vote Messina, just because of the experience and pedigree. But, we know NOTHING about these guys.

I am a senior Manager over profit centers, and have to pick people and talent regularly. I coach managers and sales people. Believe me, a lot of deep dive goes into selecting a head coach, in the NBA or in business. But much of the decision is also based on fit with the owner, GM, etc. Messina may be a great fit, or he could turn off MJ relative to any number of things.

The candidate field also influences decisions. I never hire anyone I wouldn’t hire, but I’ve taken some on that I knew needed extra help.

Messina seems to have all the right stuff, but at 57, he has yet to get an NBA head coaching job despite previous interviews (including for the Lakers job a couple years ago). Stackhouse may be the sleeper favorite here. If he proved he had coaching chops in G league, he may also have shown his ability to relate to players. That is a valuable commodity.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Messina
Blatt
M. Brown
Monty W.
Stackhouse

Messina is my clear cut favorite because he’s been under Popovich over the past few years and he has a lot of experience.

I like Blatt. I feel like he could be a great coach. He just got a raw deal with LeBron the same way every other coach that has coached LeBron.

Mike Brown like Blatt had to deal with the LeBron conundrum. Brown was able to get LeBron teams with scarce talent to play at extremely high level multiple seasons. He also coached the last Lakers team that went to the playoffs before getting fired the next season after 4 games.

Not really interested in Monty but I wouldn’t be mad. He coached a young Anthony Davis team to the playoffs that was competitive without much talent besides Davis. Then the team took years to get back on track despite adding more talent the next few years after he was fired. I don’t think he should’ve been fired but he had a lot going on with his wife passing around that time.

Stackhouse is a intriguing case. He might be a great coach. He might be a horrible coach. He might just be average. I don’t know which way to lean because I never heard him discuss the game of basketball. Let’s just hope he’s no Tracy McGrady because TMac would make for the worst coach or front office person based on his analysis of the game on ESPN’s The Jump.

I like Messina.
Read Stackhouse is good with D. Models himself after Thibodeau. No thanks.
Haven’t done homework on other guys yet. But from what I ready know, Messina my pick.

Yeah I was a little bummed to see the Stackhouse news, not because I think he'd be a bad hire but because I was hoping Messina would be a quick hire.

Is Stackhosue even good? All i can tell is he has won 2 championships with the Raps gleague team. That isn't impressive, he has been coaching for like 3 total years or something.

I cant help but think "Jason Kidd 2.0". A recently retied player with little to no coaching experience becoming an NBA HC.

Stackhouse is cheap option for us while we tank. With MJ already having to pay Cliff this year, doubt he wants to dig in much more.

Poll results confirm it will be Stackhouse or Fizdale and that it definitely wont be Messina.

I like Stack mostly because I want a rebuild and I think he fits that better than anyone else. If we are going to try to stay mediocre but with a better coach for the next few years I think Messina is a great option.

Messina
Messina

If we hire anyone other than Messina, Im going to disppointed I think Stackhouse would be decent also but I really dont want to hear the UNC connection thing over and over and over.
