This is kind of a mic-drop moment, honestly.

Just because a GM has "his plan" doesn't mean success will surely follow.

If Schlenk's plan was to get rid of Budenholzer and install "his guy", fine. I'm a Hawks fan and I'll have to get behind that plan, albeit begrudgingly.

However, don't sell me that it's a sure thing. This is as much a shot in the dark as Sacramento's plan has been, as the Suns' plan was, as the Magic's plan was and all the other perennial tankers' plans have been. We are now no different than them.

They all started with the hotshot new exec who assisted some "successful" franchise who has all the new ideas. Get rid of that guy and these players. He's got it all figured out. 6 years later it's ... uhhh, uhmmmm, but in this year's draft, there's this prospect. He'll put it allll together for us ... in 4 years ....

You should remember that we only won 43 games last year, had no top talent, shrinking cap space and couldn't even get elite Free Agents to meet with us.

The Hawks have been in serious need of a course correction for years.

Is any of that a reflection on Bud's coaching?

Mike B has you guys' undying loyalty? That is beyond insane considering how bad things got under his watch.

This isn't the end of the world.

NOTE: Mike B is willing to walk away. Yet you're placing all blame on Travis?

I think he deserves it. He's taken mid level talent, and flourished. Never a star player to work with. I'm of the mindset that if Bud was around for the Joe Johnson/Josh Smith days, we would have had more success. Iso Joe was a thing because that's the only scheme Woodson knew.

Bless his heart. @jamall simply refuses to separate Budenholzer as a failed GM from Budenholzer as a coach. Rather than simply evaluating him as a coach, he's also assessing his worth as a GM (a role which he no longer holds).

I VERY MUCH RECALL his time before taking on PBO duties.

He is a good coach.

But he is not above reproach. He is not the only coach capable of getting players to play the right way.

We're going in circles.

I'll allow more time to mourn and get past the (likely) departure we're looking at.

I get the mindset of considering a possible departure, but I don't think we should just dump Bud just because we gave permission to speak with another team.

I mean the coaching carousel is just as bad as a rebuild itself. Unless there is a mastermind out there waiting to be plucked, then we should be holding onto Bud.

I’d light to throw in a conspiracy theory here and do with it what you wish...

Tony Ressler -owner (Jewish)
Travis Achlenk -GM (Jewish)

Mike Budenholzer- (German)

Just saying we have to look at EVERYTHING. Right Jamal?

Once again, I feel we need to consider that this isn't a one way decision. It isn't like the Hawks are the ones saying we need to get rid of Bud and he is holding on for dear life, not wanting to leave. I very much think it is a mutual decision. Bud wants to move from from a situation where he got demoted and wants to try and save face. Compare it to any job out there. If a manager gets demoted to a regular worker, he likely will seek employment else where for a fresh start.

The way I see it too. Bud is but hurt from his POBO spanking

This is still misery for most Hawks fans though. At least it should happen quickly and the word until then is COMPENSATION please

Wait a second...it’s not ok to simply state their background? It’s easy to look away from it Jamal but I really think you should look at everything since your the culprit here driving Bud’s bus out of town...

You can ignore it Jamal but you’d be doing something that you said wasn’t good for me last week in ignoring the Bud situation..

Wait what’s going on here TBS...honestly I don’t know if you’re trying to say something or point out a grammatical error.

WE CANT IGNORE THE FACTS RIGHT JAMAL!!!! We must consider all things and race is one of them.

Jewish people marry Jewish people and Jewish people hire Jewish people..(from what I’ve witnesses in the acting industry..ya you might say I did a couple of commercial shoots back in the day..I know I left the door open for MacD and kg and Mase to put a fatty pic insert here).

Don’t run from this Jamal. Aren’t you a man that likes to look at the entire picture...don’t be in denial.

^I'm NOT GOING TO ARGUE WITH YOU, SPUD. If you need to place blame on a blogger 700 miles from the franchise for the coach having a desire to work elsewhere...that's fine.

But weird, borderline-Anti-Semitic comments are not allowed in this forum.
