Hey man,

Thanks for the info. Did he not clear the protocol, or are they wanting him to heal more? Did the doctor's not clear him, and then he went to Colangelo?

Does it look like he'll definitely play game 3, or does it seem like they are going to continue stretching this out until we lose a game?

I think it's a combination of being overly cautious and getting him more prepared to play. He cleared to protocol and needs to ramp up his conditioning. Of course he will want to play but they aren't going to put him out there after two weeks of little to no conditioning. I would expect him to play game 3.

What's the news on the fracture? Is it healed, or could it need more time? There still seemed to be some swelling on his face, but I guess that's what the mask for right? Guess what I'm saying is if he plays game three, do we need to be sitting nervously every time a hand comes near his face?

First 8 games:

With Embiid on a court: 124.8 ORTG/97.8 DRTG (+27.0 net)
Without: 107.4 ORTG/106.7 DRTG (+0.7 net)

Since (without stats from Miami game)

114.8 ORTG/100.8 DRTG (+14.0 net)

Generally speaking, I don't understand the debate that has started. With Embiid, our first unit would dominate on offense even more (Ben-JJ-RoCo-Saric-Jojo had 119.2 ORTG all season and 123.2 since December 25th), with slower pace and more offense running through Embiid, but without Jojo we would still have elite offense run by Ben with higher pace and more shooters around him. And we will have very quality offense with Joel without Ben (especially with Fultz running as 2nd pg).

We will have top4 offense and top4 defense full strength on regular basis, that's 60W level. And I'm writing it with full responsibility. The depth Sixers found and star power that we have are off the charts.

As has been said, this is a no - brainer, the starting line up with Embiid had the best numbers in the NBA, the problem was the bench which has been addressed. 3 point shooters also can go cold, as was the case even for peak GSW with not very arguably GOAT shooting, and even apart from his defense having a player of Embiid’s phenomenal talent is rather handy for those times.

At most the Sixers should perhaps look at not going totally back to their previous style of play on his return and look more to integrate him into the recent one, while it continues to be successful anyway. As has also been said, surely he could surpass Amir Johnson in the role Amir has been playing.

Hey man what are you hearing about game 3. Embiid said in response to Ramona Shelburne that he may be out on Thursday too? What is going on??!! We need him for game 3... Don't think we win in Miami without him, as they now have the momentum... Is it up in the air on whether he plays? I'd hate for us to lose this series, because he wasn't a go, and we were being too cautious...

If he is ready and there are no risks than play him. If there are any risks - hold him out. We are not winning **** this season either way. It's all about making sure we are ready in couple of years.

There are always risks though. We just want a prudent level of risk. I agree with you that his long term health is more important than the current playoff run, but that doesn't mean that the current playoff run is meaningless.

I hope, and expect, that he will play on Thursday. We have today and tomorrow for him to pass the various tests.

Theres a risk any time anyone is on the court to get injured. The dude isnt made of glass. Put the damn mask on and lets go. Even embiid is fed the **** up

We have a very good chance to make the finals and win it. I expect to win it all. So I don’t think the Sixers staff should think we have no shot to win it all. But I agree they can’t be dumb with it. If he can’t play you can’t let him play if you don’t think he’s ready. I do expect him to play though.

You absolutely lost it when we were down 6 points in the 3rd quarter to the mavericks in October lol. If he's not medically cleared to play he's not medically cleared to play.

ya well I'm plenty happy that this team did way better than I thought they were trending back then.. Simmons finally started playing assertive basketball after that weird month or 2 stretch where it seemed like he was disinterested. But our GM pulled a hell of a move getting belli and ily for free, and that and ben playing like he cares has totally changed things

Embiid can play with a mask... if he himself didn't say he is tired of this, then I may be more understanding, but sounds to me they are waiting longer than they would if he was any other player not named embiid.

I'm fine with him being out game 2 since we won game 1.. but he needs to play now. We can not go down 2-1 with the following game in miami, and having game 4 possibly being his first game where rust and getting used to him back in the offense could also play a factor in it.. that risks going down 3-1

I definitely think we lose game 3. We will win in 7 though.

Well remember this is the guy that successfully begged his way into playing that Rockets game on a torn meniscus. He clearly really wants to play and is willing to play at not 100%.

I'm sure you saw all the cheap shots Olynyk and others got away with last night. I guarantee you that the first game back an elbow from a heat player is going to magically find Embiid's face. He needs to be cleared to withstand that.
