I think Charlotte is a possible destination for Blake. I don't see MJ rebuilding and they need another playmaker to team up with Kemba to make a playoff run.

Blake for Williams, Batum or MKG, & #11 pick.

I'd even take a flyer on Monk if they don't want to give up their pick.

Four steps:

One - tell Stan that he can't sign any free agent this summer for longer than two years

Two - If Pistons are doing well, great. If Pistons aren't panning out, fire SVG and do these trades by the deadline.

Blake for Williams, MKG and 2020 first round pick.

Drummond for Noah, Thomas, 2020 first round pick, 2022 first round pick

Three - be prepared to stink for a year and a half, and trade whatever you can for 2020 and earlier contracts and draft picks.

Four - in June, 2020, you basically have NO PLAYERS ON THE BOOKS! Not even Josh Smith! :banghead: The teardown is complete, and an intelligent GM can build it from there. Paging Sam Hinkie.......

This would garner the Pistons only a single season of cap relief, and that wouldn't come until 2021. It's a lateral move at absolute best, and probably worse than that. The Pistons won't be bad enough to be bad, and they won't see even the minor success that the current roster might be able to accomplish. Gores would never spring for it anyway.

At absolute best we draft a star (Bridges maybe?) at #11. I also think there is a chance that we'd be better with Williams at PF than we are with Blake. Williams plays solid D and his shooting can help us spread the floor.

Plus if it's MKG, they both expire in 2020. And if you can eventually get picks for them, all the better.....
