Let’s see the if I remember the logic from game 1.....Jazz win 102-95. Thunder went on 19-0 run. So outside of that run Jazz won 102-76 over the other 42 mins. So this was basically a blowout.

Did I do it right?

Correct. And aside from all the times they scored points, the Thunder were held scoreless. Not a good sign for them

That's part of Jazz's defensive philosophy. Similar to the Spurs they teach their players to not foul(exception for Euro fouls). It is a double edged sword since it sometimes looks like they don't play physical enough on D.

Yes. Just like the Grit'N'Grind Grizzlies claimed they never fouled. Come on man.

There's levels to bad shooting. Like Rubio and Rondo (Rubio is slightly better), if you leave them WIDE open can reliably hit 3's at a decent clip, so you should definitely not do whatever the hell Lillard was doing on that play the other night when they left Rondo wide open. Then there's Evan Turner, who you can almost completely ignore if not for the fact he can sometimes make a play with the ball in his hands. Then there's the Andre Roberson and Tony Allen level guys who you can completely not guard on the perimeter without any consequence.

Oh yeah and Simmons is under .250 from 3ft out in the playoffs and hasn't made a 3 in the season or playoffs. PG13 and Brewer played great perimeter D on him.

This really isn't a great arguement to make after a night where Mitchell went 0-7 from three. Everyone knows what Simmons game is, Mitchell is supposed to be a scorer.

lol @ this post. people really can't be this obtuse, can they? Mitchell scored 28. and 13 in the 4th quarter. and his team won on the road. his role on this team is to score, specifically to be a go to guy down the stretch and to win games. pretty much checked all the boxes.

Rubio is no longer a WOAT-leve shooter. He was getting excellent looks. And converted at a good rate.

The shots Paul George hit through the first 6 quarters...however, were just stupid. That's the only word I can use to describe it.

Just dumb shots that didn't even hit rim. Joke shots. Those were much more likely to not fall and be due a HUGE regression.

Throughout this series, I think Utah has a more sustainable defense and offense. The gap is not big enough to overcome crazy flukiness like PG's shooting streaks, but it is big enough to comfortably win if they execute.

They beat OKC 10/15 series IMO. The 5 would be dropped due to WB an PG shooting like gods off the dribble. Or some others team-wide streakiness.

Rubio has scored 3 3pt or more 13 times this season, and 8 of them are in the last streak of the jazz (from february to today).
You can think it's luck, or something... then better leave him open, better to us.

last year If I remember correctly the Grizzlies were the most fouling-prone team in the league (so you're right about them!) whereas the Spurs (1st ranked defense in the league) committed less fouls than pretty much any team in the league.

so it's definitely possible to be a great and aggressive defensive team like the JAzz and Spurs without fouling too much.

WTF???

Plus some serious defense on Westbrook. Rubio played an amazing game, arguably on Mitchell and Favors' level, only less glamourous because he didn't explode in the 4th or own the offensive glass in such a devastating way.

All in all, pretty good game from the Jazz last night. They showed their signature resilience when they didn't give up after that 19-0 run by OKC.

And the best thing for Jazz fans is the fact that they didn't play unsustainable basketball, a la PG's 8/11 from deep. Sure, Rubio played very well, but not better than other games we've seen from him in the past 2 months. Favors was a man amongst kids in the paint, but Gobert was pretty pedestrian on the other hand. Jerebko stepped up big time, but Jingles played a timid game (apart from some awesome defense by PG13), which is something OKC should definitely be thankful for. And Mitchell was Mitchell, if you are surprised by his performance you haven't watched him enough.

Amazing game overall. Refs sucked for both teams, though. Not what I wanna see in a playoff game between two such exciting teams with such different styles.

Rubio's defense has been amazing this series. Westbrook seems to be really frustrated with him.

Just an ugly 4th quarter by the Thunder. Honestly it wasn't even Utah's defense. OKC thunder had no ball movement, just hero ball, jacking up shots
