Also, even if he DID now for the fact that he would play GM3, why would he say it publicly right away. Keep Miami in the fog until the very last moment. You don't want to have them prepared for it 3 days before the game.

This isn't 1940...the Heat have played the Sixers 6 times this year, and 3 of them I believe with embiid. The injury / recovery trajectory is also generally known...the Sixers not reporting until the last minute isn't a huge factor in the game. NBA adjustments are more subtle than NFL game plans which require more intricate coordination so the challenge of game planning +/- a superstar is a bit overblown.

i am not a doctor as i have mentioned. If what i have been hearing is correct, then Keith's source is clearly speculating or he is leaving information out.

The mask is there to protect his face from further injury. Of course permanent damage could be caused by a severe blow, IF he is not wearing a mask.

My source is very close to Embiid who has given me updates the entire time

um... a forceful blow to that area could cause permanent eye sight issues regardless of if he is already hurt or not.. that is not saying much

and embiid's eye sight, as far as we know, wasn't impacted at all by the first injury.. im not sure how the orbital bone being fractured would effect his eye sight

He talks to doctors who have not examined Embiid, and have no other medical information on him other than what is reported in the media, and then gives a speculative prognosis. It is completely irresponsible, and if I were the Sixers I would revoke his media credential if he keeps doing this stuff.

I dont know what Keith's motivations are. Following his twitter during games, he typically posts negative comments about the game.

If this was so severe where another injury could cause permanent damage, he would have been shutdown for the playoffs.

The good thing about Joel being out 3 weeks is his hand has had time to heal. Since that Phoenix game late December. His hand has bothered him a lot on and off
