A Wizards fan telling us about coaching... This what the Raptors do man

Come on..we got as bad a coach as you have...Wall and Beals shot chart looks just like DDs today...for the last 2 years...I’m just saying its not on the players....Coaches in the NBA that just roll out the ball and say...play high pick and roll...clear out...or drive and kick if you in trouble... see OKC...that crap doesnt win...see it with OKC with Durant, Westbrook and Harden...see it with George Westbrook and Melo....its BS...it catches up to you eventually . Which is why Boston is scary...cause they got a coach...not cause they got a team...the team will be made better by good coaching...in Toronto and Washington and OKC that aint the case...even in Portland...they got allstars and AAU coaches...sorry man...I COME IN PEACE but its true..

All I expect from Casey is to call time outs at the proper time. And for these fktards, I expect them to not give the freakn ball away. Just those two simple things.

This team as constructed will never win. Our one all star reverts to idiot basketball whenever times get tough and our other all star plays scared. These aren't 3rd-4th year players where maybe they'll grow into something better. That's who they are and they **** suck.

The sample size is big enough to call them what they are, **** losers.

Raps got screwed that second half by the officiating, especially by ref 58.

You cant let Gortat swing Yak out of the way so Wall can get an open driving lane or Oubre to pull on DD's jersey but then call Yak for getting into rebounding position or Lowry setting a screen to get the ball back. I didn't even get into (until now) how Beal got called for a fourth foul much earlier in the quarter but they changed it to Morris to protect him and after his 7th foul, the refs decided to not call 3 straight fouls on DD/KL on their drives while the Wizards of all teams got into the bonus. Incredibly bad.

That being said, DD didn't use screens to execute fast enough. He used screen to just get the ball and assess the floor. That's too slow and he missed wayyyy too many rollers and his passing was not on target. Wright has to shoot the ball when free more, Ibaka needs more FGA attempts and if one of Beal or Wall are out of the game, the game completely flips in JV's favor so he has to be out there - let alone being one of the best +/- players every game while he basically plays against Wall and Beal together almost exclusively.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

Disgusting game. Can and must do better.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:

I really hope we lose the next two. Casey is the wrong coach, he needs to go. This team is so mentally weak - something needs to change and would rather see them lose now to ensure we blow it up than watch these mental midgets get absolutely punked by Lebron.

For all our successes in the regular season, the embarrassment this group has brought the franchise is too much.... when teams are scrambling for the EIGHT seed to play you, you know there's a problem.

Seriously- has that ever happened to any other team????

I'm so pissed I have a headache...

Our main guys have learned NOTHING over all these years?

Why is our coach still hoarding timeouts?
Why are KL and DD still driving at end of games fishing for fouls?

OG, a rookie has been the most consistent starter.... LIKE WTF!?!?!?

Casey is the same guy that drew up that last awful 6 mins of DeRozan iso-ing.

He really shouldn't talk about what we "normally" do.

I really don't think Casey draws up ANY plays that tell DeMar that he HAS to shoot. Even if that's the first option, DeMar has to read the defense.

In football, if the play is to throw to the primary receiver and he's in triple coverage, it's not the coach's fault if the QB throws it anyway and gets picked.

So it just coincidentally ended up in DeMar's hands EACH possession for the final minutes?!

We don't actually believe that do we???

Someone *ahem* seen it failing over n over yet CONTINUED to draw it up that way....

There's no problem with starting a play with DeMar. DeMar doesn't have to shoot. He's allowed to pass. We can blame Casey for not getting on DeMar about his shot selection, but at the end of the day, the player has to execute. I promise you no coach tells his star player to hog the ball.

Lowry looked gassed. He didn't play great but maxed out on effort. He couldn't even blow by Gortat in the 4th quarter. Delon had the deer in the headlights look tonight. Those were our options.

There's no play called "assisted 3-pointer". Those happen organically when you correctly react to the D, which we didn't do enough times tonight.

Hola from Cancun!

It's hilarious that even here in this sports bar, the narrative on Lowry/DeRozan is no different

Majority here knew Washington was going to win this game because of our David Prices performing at a playoff level.

Was embarrassed to say I was a raptor fan but at least they gave me some free tequila to drown my sorrows...

biblast™ wrote:Okay. How is this Casey’s fault again ? Oh wait, he’s the one that told them to miss those shots ? That was part of the game plan ???
Casey left Lebron on our bench ??? Oh wait, he plays for Cleveland!
So Casey should have benched the entire team and play Bebe, JV, and Brown ??

Had those clowns play the same way they did in the 1st half and made shots, would you had given credit to Casey ???

Seriously, this board is a joke!

Casey's not responsible for the team possession by possession, but he is responsible for the culture, play style and discipline of the team. He can't allow DD to chuck away without consequence. Instead of babying him and treating him like an superstar, he should be treated just as any player who is hurting his team. DD doesn't get priority over winning.

DeMar DeFlaccid played a complete game. He was awful from the opening whistle.
