Re: PG: derozan will never learn
DD and Lowry got fouled like crazy at the end.. no calls after that terrible call on Beal.
DD should have been to the line 10 more times.
Defence on Wall was awful at the end.
How does JV only get 15 mins???? I know they are running the pick and roll with JV almost every play.. but is he that bad on defence where he only gets 15 mins?

Even if we win game 5, I have no confidence these scrubs can win a game in Washington. Zero.

Bad defense, Low IQ plays, slow in transition

I feel like the only player to pass up shots they absolutely should've taken at any impressionable quantity was Delon. I yelled at the screen one time and I don't really do that when watching a game lol.
I think setting up better in-rhythm shots means DD and KL have to execute quicker off the screen rather than just use a screen to catch the ball and dribble for a decent amount of time. If they don't, they can get caught up in getting their own shots as the defense is well established rather than moving out of position. Also, it's just a flat out fact DD missed too many rollers in the first half.
I don't know if there's a video of it but there was a play I distinctly remember where Poeltl was semi open on a pass from DeMar near the elbow. Gortat had his head turned, Poeltl just needed to attack. Instead he dribbles it back out and finds DeMar again for a reset. Inexcusable.
Poeltl is low on the list of blame... where is the talk of Serge? 2 of 5 for 7 points. 4 TOS??? Probably the worst player on the floor after Derozan.

How can we cannot take advantage with Beal fouling out tho?
What can redeem this loss? A blowout win in game 5 and 6?

DeMar was a problem, so as all the other pussies on the team that passed up shots that would rather watch DeMar ISO so they wouldn't have to try and score.
So Derozan has wide open 3 but shoots it 30% or less, he should take it?!
I assume your blaming Delon. He's not a very good 3pt shooter or even spot up shooter. He's better at running the offence which he can't do when he's on the floor with Derozan who has the ball the majority.
Delon is a bench player and played solid defence. We don't need him scoring 20, 15 or even 10. We do need our big three who is apparently Kyle, DD and Serge to score efficiently which they did not do.
Delon does not tip the scale. Derozan going 10 for 29 does.
We don't need him scoring 25, we need him taking good shots that are being given to him. When you're passing up good shots you're completely wasting away a good opportunity for your team to score a basket, and he was doing that constantly. He wasn't the only culprit either. Siakam during parts of the game, Poeltl had some bad possessions, Ibaka was Ibaka, Lowry also tried forcing a lot of passes that weren't there. When he tried scoring he did well, start of the 4th quarter.

I still remember when the Raptors were close to beating Warriors in their own house earlier this season and the Raptors were up 5. so what could possibly go wrong? DeMar brick, Kyle brick, Kyle brick again, Kyle blocked and that's it. Totally going away from Jakob Poeltl who was the reason why the Raptors were in the game to begin with. The Warriors made their game-winning run when they saw that the Raptors were fooling around with iso ball to close the last 2 minutes.
Iso ball killing our leads was an issue back in late October, it still seems to be an issue now.

Re: PG: derozan will never learn
This team is totally out of sync without FVV.
Fitting that he would get injured in the last game of the season, very Raptors-Esque.
There were so many dumb turnovers, it was hard to watch.
Oh yeah, the refs WERE favouring the Wizards.
Oubre, Wall and Beal are so painful to watch, they are total dicks after every play they make.

Cause it's perfectly okay for players to be pussies and not involve themselves in the offense.
It's everyone's fault. If Delon wasn't passing up easy looks he would have prevented DeMar from attempting another stupid ass drive with 4 Wizards around him.
Lol you just don’t get it. How the **** would they involve themselves when DD is holding the ball and only passes when they’re not in a position to shoot? And then they’re forced to give the ball back to him. The only time this team showed rhythm is when DD was on the bench. The biggest pussy is DD because he could are less about the wins unless he looks good doing it.
Take open shots when you have them? Go up for lay ups when you're around the rim? Did you not see Poeltl down low in the post, and instead of trying to attack he'd just dribble it out and find DeMar? How many open looks did Delon pass up? Some of you guys have lower IQs than Ibaka. When players are REFUSING to shoot someone has to, and DeMar's the only one that wants to, too bad he ****ing sucks at it.
Did you even watch the game or were you too busy posting on the GT every 2 mins? The instances where DD actually gave up the ball where a teammate had an open look, you would be able to count on one hand. The guy took 29 shots and went to the FT line 18 times. Possessions numbering in the high 30s he took the shot and the vast majority without even looking to pass.

Just a quick aside. Why isn't Gortat getting called for offensive fouls on every screen he sets. He is always moving and holding the player he's screening on every play. It's completely ridiculous.

Re: PG: derozan will never learn
The Raptors honestly have already lost this series. They needed to make a statement - for themselves and their confidence. Thats already out the window. The only thing they would save themselves from if they win the series is the embarassment of losing to an 8th seed.
But for all intents and purposes, empirical evidence and what we are seeing now suggests this team doesnt have a sustainable;e run in them. Gotta break up the core if thats true.

Nothing can redeem this loss. No one doubts this team in regards to advancing, but we all thought DeLookForAFoul and Hell or High Water Casey were done with this iso ****. Just sad.

I don’t like Casey but I just don’t **** understand why some people always have to blame someone else instead of looking at the real issue, right in front of them!
OUR D WAS TRASH, OUR EXECUTION IN THE 2nd HALF WAS TRASH ESPECIALLY IN CRUNCH TIME.
OUR TEAM WAS TRASH, PERIOD.
The maestro & his orchestra are both at fault.

im not even talking xs and os with casey right now. the reason this is caseys fault is because he refuses to bench the guys that are responsible for this team's trash play. you can delve into xs and os all you want and he **** up there too... but really it comes down to making a simple decision... if you see certain players doing well (the bench+lowry) why the **** do you **** that up, and sub in no defense, iso demar + brick hands, no show ibaka, at the end of the game? its so painfully obvious that the bench unit + lowry was the best the team has played all game and wouldve given them the best chance to win on both ends (defense was superb and offense was oving the ball and finding open guys.) and yet, he subbed them out. thats why hes a bad coach. thats why its on him. if he played that lineup and they lost, then ill blame those guys and absolve of him the blame. but he didn't. he played the worst possible lineup he couldve out there, and him playing that lineup cost them the game. so its on him. changing the system for no **** reason is also on casey.
That’s the issue, X’s & O’s are a problem at times but his decision making is what ultimately hurts us. Decision making and tactical prowess as a coach are extremely crucial in the playoffs. Ask Frank Vogel, who elected to bench both PG & George Hill to start the 4th; which gave us a chance to get back into game 5, and ultimately going on to win the series. Which led to him losing his job.
In an evenly matched series like this, coaching has to be the x-factor that influences this series in our favour. Especially, when our team is struggling;

Are you serious right now? Do you just not watch the game until the last 3 seconds of the possession? You don't see our guys being scared to challenge the Wizards defense?

I was really wondering why Casey often closed games with VanVleet alongside Lowry and DeRozan despite the size disadvantage that opponents would later exploit. Now I know why...the Raptors look like the same old crap without him.
