Ya looking back at it.... So glad we drafted Jan Vesley over Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard. Some of Ernie's finest work I must say!

The big picture is that with the series tied at two games Ernie Grunfeld has done a decent enough job.
The rest is up to Brooks and his Stars.
I believe Ty Lawson can really help this team if they let him! I was very happy to see Scott Brooks put Sato in the game at the very end of game 4.
His best move was sticking with Gortat. Marcin Gortat really wanted last game. He battled on the boards and said a ton of good picks. He even hit his open shots and threw down a really nice dunk.
I'm not mad at Ernie.
The Wizards are still in this despite what people say about their bench. Most of the TV heads don't really look that closely.

Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Did Vesely ever have a catch phrase as good as "I get buckets, son"?
Man I miss "Stewie" Pech. LOL

Rewriting history, if we had drafted Klay, it would have changed many other things.
We would have had a slightly better record the next summer, so instead of getting the 3rd pick, we'd probably pick around 5th or 6th. Drummond would have been the obvious choice. That would also render the Rashard Lewis for Ariza/Okafor trade unnecessary. We could have just bought out Lewis' final year. That 2012-13 season would have gone about the same with Klay, Webster (in his one healthy season) and Drummond in place of Beal, Ariza and Okafor, so we still would have been in position to draft Porter.
Drummond was good on Day 1, so there would have been no need to trade a pick for Gortat. Going in to the summer of 2013, we would have had a lineup of:
PG Wall
SG Klay
SF Webster/Porter
PF Booker
C Drummond/Nene
And we would have had max salary room with Rashard Lewis coming off the books and we wouldn't have sacrificed our 2014 pick for Gortat.

The other dream would be that the Wizards would have "fell" in 2013 and drafted Giannis.
