He wanted out so bad he took nothing in terms of cash. He just wanted out at all cost.

I think we all owe Jamaal an apology. He called this being a possibility way back before the beginning the season and we all scoffed at the notion. Excellent job reading the tea leaves Jamaal.

"I am grateful for the five years that I spent as coach of the Atlanta Hawks, and will always cherish the incredible contributions, commitment and accomplishments of the players that I was fortunate enough to work with here," Budenholzer told ESPN on Wednesday night. "From ownership to management, support staff to the community, I'll look back with great pride on what we were able to achieve together with the Hawks."

Atlanta owner Tony Ressler and general manager Travis Schlenk met Budenholzer on Tuesday night in Atlanta and ultimately decided that a separation was the best course for everyone, league sources said.

I am more disappointed that my guy was completely wrong. He said Bud wanted to come back, hes just testing the market. :nonono:

That clearly wasn't the case. Bud wanted to gtfo

I just think your expectations of getting a 1st rd pick much less a top 5 pick for him was just far too unrealistic. Even getting #19 for him could’ve never been a real possibility.

Coaches are only worth so much and I think you mistakenly overestimated how much a guy like Budenholzer is worth.

That makes no sense, if he wanted to come back even after the Suns interview he wouldn't have interviewed for Kincks job.

GM Bud got us into this mess and now Coach Bud gets to walk away from it scot free. Sometimes I hate the way the world works.

Who do we pursue at this point? Man I wanted Bud for the ling run. Felt like we never got a chance to fully see what he could do. The Dennis project certainly seems as if it's over.

Full rebuild is now a for sure reality. So much hope is just gone all of a sudden. Schlenk better have a fail proof plan, because I lost a little faith in him after today.

We are too good of an organization to others. Bud put us in such a **** situation. He won games he had no business winning.

I could want what I want but if Atlanta wants a lot for him, what can you say? This comes down to him wanting out at all cost.

We are doing an internal search as well as guys on the outside like Vanderpool, Udoka, Stephen Silas

Why can't we get right??
First the ASG and their infighting and ending up in court. Second the Ferry fiasco and forcing to sell the team, then Bud stripped of POBO and Wilcox reassigned, and NOW this - like we do this for shitts and giggles. Only in Atlanta, smh.

If Silver forces Schlenk out in two years, you guys are in like Flynn

Seriously though, trust the process. Even with the revised lottery odds, it will work if you let it. Don’t do an ORL and try to bail halfway through. I can see you guys going after some devalued youngsters to try and rehab them, too.
