They really didn't let Melo touch the ball in the entire 2nd half. New strategy?

Re: 2017-18 NBA Playoffs - Week 2
Westbrook was volatile for the better in the 2nd half.
OKC played tremendous defense and attacked the hell out of the paint w/ Gobert out. Snyder panicked big time leaving him in there to pick up his 5th. Jazz as a team really didnt know wtf to do.
They gotta play w/ more intensity in game 6 if they wanna win this series.

Okc can win this series. The blue print was this game. I've been echoing this fix up all season.

The guy never moves towards the hoop without the ball. He could have so many easy baskets if he would just cut to the hoop. How does he not see that on tape? But to answer your question, yes because he's not a good 3 point shooter and all he does is stand behind the 3 point line.

Re: 2017-18 NBA Playoffs - Week 2
GOBBERT IS OFFICIALLY IN ANOTHER LEAGUE AS FAR AS A DEFENSIVE ANCHOR COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE LEAGUE.
Seeing how his foul trouble changed the game and made the hoop a walking layup line shows the difference between a good defensive player and an anchor.
Wow. Westbrook with possibly greatest playoff matchup of all time

They can win the series, but I wont ever put my money on Westbrook in a playoff series. He looks insanely good 1 night, the next hes bricking jumpers and forcing up bad layup attempts.
Their defense was incredibly on point in that 3rd qtr though. Thats something they might be able to replicate.

He's a triple double machine. It's the other guys you should worry about.

He’s a stretch 4 now and shot decently from 3 on the year(35/6%).

Not good enough, this is the playoffs. He was tied for 121st in 3 point shooting during the regular season. During the playoffs I think he's under 25%. But his problem is he just stands still on offense which puts him to sleep. Can't do that in the playoffs. Need to keep moving those feet and anticipate ahead of time where the openings are on the floor.

westbrook has been bad but so has melo. it's not even just falling off from age. he's missing a lot of wide open jumpers. a 40 year old can hit those. he lost his confidence somehow.
yeah i dont even know what happened to melo too. welp
I think that the realization that this team isn’t going anywhere and that he likely will never win it all is a big factor. I’m sad for him - kind of hoped they’d make the finals and he have one last burst of glory.

Melo shot 6 times and he was literally 3rd in shot attempts.
He’s not getting the ball period. No one other than Russ and PG really gets it. It’s whatever. They take turns iso-ing. I don’t know what to tell ya.

You still hate Melo? Do you still have that song you did? (Still remember it after all this time.)

I'm sad to see him go down this way, but still so relieved he's on their team, not ours.
