Kennard has been fine for a first year player.

I think he could become a starting quality player, though I do not see all star potential. He’s the best rookie we’ve had since Drummond, and second best going back a lot further than that.

That does say more about our drafting than it does about him, but yeah, it’s not Kennard’s fault.

Nope. Kennard didn't pick himself over Donovan Mitchell. Dumb front office decision makers screwed the pooch on that one.

If Mitchell wasn't amazing out of the gate, the Kennard pick would look fine. He wasn't bad for a rookie picked towards the bottom of the lottery, if you're evaluating him in a vacuum.
