lol and yet dc "sports fans" fill the arena for this **** day in and day in, while Philly SPORTS FANS filled the arena for The Process.

Sometimes, a fanbase gets the team it deserves.

DC sports will never be good, because DC sports isn't about winning, it's about entertaining the yuppies who can afford to drop 3-4k a month on apartments. They don't care about the game, they care about hype and excitement.

Well it's been a good run. 25 years feels like enough of a dose.

I haven't been around as long as some of the other guys, but for me at this point in my life, I've learned this season that I have to reassess my expectations about basketball in general.

While I hate what Ted and Ernie have done, I personally have more problems with the league as a whole than anything specific to the Wizards.

The lottery changes don't solve tanking, and teams are still beholden to RNG as to whether or not they are going to get good returns out of it. It took 5 years for Hinkie's plan to come to fruition in Philadelphia and that was with him doing everything right as far as rigging probabilities in his favor. I'd say that's about the rate of significant change in the NBA. That's way too long to ask a fan to stick around imo.

I absolutely hate the way they implemented supermax deals, binding it to All-NBA votes is just so shortsighted in a league that values different positions differently, not too mention the Media primarily follows narrative rather than any kind of rigorous analysis, and we're already seeing that come to fruition with a guy like John whose going to be getting similar money to Curry. You can always say "well the team doesn't have to offer the supermax" but what is the players response to that? IMHO if Ernie would have declined giving Wall the supermax after maxing Otto, John would have straight up walked, as would a lot of players. Competitive athletes are prideful people. The only people this benefits are teams lucky enough to land a truly supermax worthy player. Teams are still going to be able to game the system to their advantage.

I have been checked out since 2016, although I haven't posted here much for quite some time now.

I am riding this out until Ernie is fired, which I think will happen whenever this current team is blown up and another rebuild is necessary.

Even then, there is no guarantee the new guy won't just be another Terd Leonsis stooge who does dumb **** and keeps his job. I will be back when this team finally makes it out of the 2nd round.
