ibaka needs to be benched. start siakam.

Siakam and Val worked nicely today. It is amazing that:

1- this is the first time, ever, that JV plays with the mob.
2- how much nicer his D looks with good perimeter defense.

I know this was not *his* game (G5) but again he came in the 4th when we were leading by 3 and we finished 14-7.
Maybe he can play 4th quarters after all?

His Defense was still terrible. Don’t blame Lowry or demar for Val’s shortcomings. Despite all that Val has forced caseys hand

We won inspite of casey but i have to admit he finally dod the right rotation in the 4th putting in lowry and CJ its what i was calling for the entire quarter. Still think hes a sh coach but he did maake the right adjustment today

stackhouse probably more responsible for his development. only reason he got a chance because of wright and norm injuries and he firmly established himself with the opportunity given.
Also for how long fans have been calling for JV to be playing alongside the bench? And yet it doesn't happen till today. Why are fans able to pick better lineups than this supposed coach who has a supposed vast breadth of basketball knowledge?

Haha. That’s pretty funny because I distinctly remember people slamming Casey over and over on this forum for giving FVV so much playing time before he was established.

But hey, can’t expect the Casey bashers to own up when they’re wrong or be consistent or anything.

what we don't realize, is when the guard does their thing where they make JV run around for some fadeaway midrange jumper.... thats what we want them to do. No one else is in rhythm, and its a low % shot, when someone finally gets a shot they brick it, or Wall blows an easy layup. But that was pretty much it for scoring, and they couldn't grab a rebound with him either meaning sure we'd have stops before, but they'd just score anyways.

Then on offence he goes and gets a rebound for example on offence, taking another possession, I think Siakim had one too, but his picks really opened things up with really tired defenders, giving Lowry lots of room to work with. So we see these few mid range baskets and don't realize how overall effective it is because visually 'it looks bad'.

Even though the scoreboard says different. Cause they were trying to attack JV in a different way, it also opened up things for like Wright to jump in for a steal with his length, since our players know they're going to try that as well, and anticipate it.

So if you noticed, we played alot worse defence in game 3 and 4 in the 4th soooooooooooo

well thats stupid, players need to play to get better. We had no Lowry, giving FVV some time sure paid off this year. Some people may have mentioned that, they also might be lizard people.

This felt like so many of our regular season games. Bad start. Bench got them back. We held serve in the third with the starters and turned it over to Fred and crew to completely lock down the opponents while our starters watch on the bench until they can come in and ice it. That is what Fred allows us to do.

lets be honest though.... ibaka has been really bad

at this point id be very happy losing another first to move him and keep the rest of the team together... pay fvv, pickup a cheap pf.... play jv 34 mpg when hes on, start siakim. give og and miles spot pf mins ... if jv is playing his best form of defense maybe play him and poeltl together


outside of game 1 id be looking to start ibaka (give him a chance ) potentially hook him after 4-5mins and not play him till second half and same thing for the rest of the playoffs

I legitimately believe that Van Vleet and JV are the keys to success. Not to discount Derozan's incredible mid-range game and overall strength, he is the best he has ever been. But all the gaps of the team at the key times in the game are really filled out by these two players.

JV provides offense at such opportune times and has really, really improved defensively and he became an indispensable asset on both sides of the floor.

Van Vleet just is so damn ice cold, nerves of steel and the entire bench is lifted by his coolness and killer instinct, it's just incredible. I love Van Vleet as a player.

The whole team honestly though is really exceptional. The worst aspect is the occasional team devolution into iso-ball but that plagues many teams. The more these guys just play together and get comfortable with all one another's skill sets like the are growing into actively right now just makes everything better.

But seriously not enough can be said about how JV and VanVleet hold the team together in crucial instances.
