President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Re: Wizards Off-season Thread (2017-2018)
One very talented, solid PG but he doesn't play to his strengths, constantly makes the same mistakes, can't finish around the basket, and doesn't play team ball.
One extremely streaky SG that can put up big numbers one day and stink up the joint the next. Add to that one of the most mentally weak players in the league and the worst, unclutch 4th quarter player in the NBA.
A SF who's our best shooter and should be taking the most shots but is timid and looks to be injury prone.
Massive $$$$ tied up is a completely useless frontcourt.
Ernie G running the show
What do we have to look forward to?

Ok so....We have no cap room for the foreeable future. None. This is the team for the next three to four seasons unless there is a trade.

I'm trying to answer this question but I can't. Fans should ask for their playoff money back for real. This was an absolute poor showing.

There really is nothing to look forward to at this point.
The most realistic scenario is they came back with nearly the same roster, win 40-45 games, and lose in the first round again as a 5-8 seed.

If the goal is to win a championship, the only move is to blow it up. The team has plenty of trade-able assets in their primes or entering their primes.
Of course, its not just about winning a chip. I doubt Ted is willing to hit the reset button so soon. My guess is he tries to retool rather than rebuild, and that would be a big mistake IMHO.

Re: Wizards Off-season Thread (2017-2018)
If nothing changes. They bring back basically the same roster. Same coach. Same GM. Decent health. Probable improvement from Oubre or even Porter. I'd put the over/under at 47 wins.
Good enough to tease but fatally flawed much like the Arenas years. The culture needed an overhaul then as well. This team has more upside but the lack of depth, issues at C and a weak coach with no creativity or flexibility whatsoever keeps us from true contender status.
What's worse was that this was the year to do something. Philly is a monster to be reckoned with and Boston is right there with them. Toronto isn't falling off. We may be competing for 4th place at best with Indy and future 2nd round exits as our ceiling if some drastic changes aren't made. And those changes can't just be by way of player trades. It has to come internally as well. There needs to be a culture reset within the organization from top to bottom.

Our draft pick, and potentially starting Oubre and Porter together. That’s about it. Also a full year of Satoransky as the 6th man I guess?
On the hook for 25 mill between Meeks, Mahinmi, and Jason Smith, sigh

Re: Wizards Off-season Thread (2017-2018)
If I could move Wall to one of those top 5 teams and pick Doncic, I would. Other than that, I think you stick with the core of Wall Beal Porter Satoransky, and just have a good summer, you gotta hit on some picks. There’s a lot of good players in the 2nd round and going undrafted. You need your center of the future, and he’s going to be there at 15. Jontay Porter is very NBA already. Zhaire Smith is a NBA ready potentially elite role player. Gary Clark is a stud.
You could transform this roster over the summer and give yourself far more flexibility. It’s not as much that we’re in a hole so deep that we can’t dig out of it, we just all expect Ernie to continue to dig deeper.
Close your eyes and picture a roster of Wall Beal Oubre Porter Satoransky and max cap space available. Summer 2016.

Only off-season change I will care about is the firing of Ernie. If that doesn't happen, I could care less what changes occur because it's not going to matter.

Be depressed
Mahinmi obviously sucks and is worth only a veteran minimum deal.
But he has been apart of a championship locker room and played in superior organizations.

Wizards are toast. Boston, Philly, and Lebron's team (if he's in the East) is too much to overcome no matter what changes this team makes. That said, people need to stop acting like Toronto is in that class. You replace our frontcourt with two athletic/high-energy bigs and we win the series.
