Feel a little bad for Vogel to be honest. I guess if he's really THAT good then I'm cool with it, he kind of has to be for this to make sense.

I don't. He going to still be our Punter next year unless this guys a HoF punter. Even if he is Vogel would have a job in no time if we let him go.

Sure it's just a late 5th rounder but this pick just doesn't make any sense

1. JK SCOTT, Alabama (6-5 ½, 209, 4.84, 5): Four-year starter. “His extension is just unbelievable,” one coach said. “His left foot is on the ground and his right foot is pointed straight up in the air. The last guy I saw hit like four of his 15 punts (at the combine) over 5.0 was (Bryan) Anger.” Considered walking away from football after his second season because painful tendinitis in both knees made walking difficult. Found ways to alleviate the problem and completed career with a 45.6 average. Placed 27 of his 54 punts inside the 20 in 2017, including 27 fair catches. “What he is is a hang-time guy,” said another coach. “When he hits his best ball it’s fantastic. He hit a 5.4 hang time at the combine; I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that. He’ll also hit a 5.2 that’s 35 yards. It doesn’t go anywhere. Biggest issue I have with him is he’s not a very effective directional punter. Maybe you don’t have to be when you get the ball as high as he does.” Also kicked off as a senior, finishing career with a 63.1 average and 45% touchback rate. Attempted four field goals, making one from 48. From Denver.

Regardless of punting ability this guy better be able to hold.

If you told me the Packers were drafting a punter in the 5th round and then said, "JK!" I probably would have been cool with it

But he can solve a rubiks cube in 1'16", so that's good

So we must have had him rated really highly and thought the Raiders were gonna take him next. Still think it is pretty dumb to do in the 5th round, but get go get your punter guy, Gutey.

Raiders took another P immediately after us so probably correct in that assumption.

Scout came out and lauded him on his holding.

Dude is like plastic man. I hated this pick but now....I don't hate it. I just dislike it.

This dude absolutely crushes the ball. I'm not in love with using a 5th on a punter, but if you get your punter for a decade and you are overloaded at picks in the 3rd day -- you could do worse. Has in air punts of 70 yards with 5+ second hang times. Nuts.
