Re: 2018 Offseason Thread
Westbrook clearly implying PG13 is likely gone and making an indirect shot at cupcake.

Getting something close to the value the Clippers got for CP3 would be nice. Then Presti could decide to move those pieces/picks or not.
He can't do a 5 yr S&T. He can only get the same 4 year contract he would get signing with another team. The only way OKC gets a S&T is if he wants to go to Cleveland, with LeBron staying there, or another team over the cap that can't sign him outright. If that 5th year is a big deal then he stays in OKC on a 5yr max. Would OKC then trade him mid-season like LAC did Blake this year? I don't think that would happen unless Russ seriously regresses early and they are looking like a contender for winning the lottery and Presti is told by ownership to cut payroll then PG and Adams probably both get traded for expiring contracts and mediocre picks. It would be a complete disaster if Presti is able to bring PG back and the highest salary team in NBA history either misses the playoffs or is a first round exit.

''PG13 only being there for months and the more important is to keep my friendship with him''. Cupcake was there for 8 years and they are not friends anymore.

That's definitely what I heard. If you all liked this season, just wait until we get to re-run it next year with no Paul George and possibly no Jerami Grant. Will be fan-freaking-tastic. Bright side. Get to spend much of the season reading up on draft lottery caliber draft prospects.

Someone please show Melo a calendar and his birth certificate. And then if he doesn't immediately understand the implication, do slap some sense into him.

I still can't believe he actually came out and said this stuff after getting benched like some useless bitch.

Re: 2018 Offseason Thread
Can somebody who understands our current cap situation let me know what difference there is in buying Melo out this next season? I understand half of his remaining salary would count towards the following year but would it make any difference in what space we would have if presumably George also left this summer?

Yeah would have been better off with Kanter

sam presti loved enes kanter. the team and city loved him.
westbrook had all summer to sign his extension, but didn't do so until the team had melo in the fold.
melo said both westbrook and george recruited him aggressively to the thunder, after the rockets thing fell through.
imo, sam would have preferred to keep kanter. but westbrook and george wanted melo.

Re: 2018 Offseason Thread
I think it's clear this team would be much improved next year simply with a return of PG13 and no Melo
Russ
Roberson
George
2Pat
Adams
Is a fine starting lineup, with development of Ferg and Abrines off the bench, someone to replace fat felton, Grant (if even possible) and a back-up center

If they bought him out it would depend on the cost of the buy out. If they stretch him then the cap hit would be $9.3M each year over the next three seasons. That would leave them at $98.3M under contract. Throw the 7 empty rosters spots and they would be looking at $110M if they filled out with vet minimum players. They could, in theory, do that and match a MLE offer to Grant and avoid the tax. You basically have this year's team without PG and Melo. I'd say that isn't a playoff team because I can't see Brewer signing for the vet minimum and I'm not sure Felton would return on a vet minimum deal knowing there was no chance at getting a ring.
