It seemed to be the whole “Big 3” messed this series up. Russ needs a PG to help him with pace. Idk what was going on with PG-13. Melo needs to adapt his game to the modern nba, he is turning into a bad version of LaMarcus Aldridge.

Frank would actually be a perfect fit for OKC.

His lack of defense is RW’s fault? Lack of ability to hit a shot or finish? He’s getting the same touches he was getting last year, and he’s doing nothing. There’s a reason the Thunder looked better with him on the bench.

If he’s better than bench players, him playing against them with more of his minutes will benefit him, right? Let him iso ball then.

If the coach things it’s best for the team, he should go with it.

He's not a shooter, he's a scorer. He wasn't getting the "same touches". Idc what any number say, I watched EVERY OKC game and complained I. These topics EVERY OKC game about how he is being used. His defense did t cost the, this series either. Russel looks better next to "role players" and the team plays better with "role players" because Russ only know how to play with "role players".

Why do you keep putting role players in quotes? You realize there is such a thing as role players, right? Guys who aren't stars but can help the team in other departments?

Kind of like what Melo should be doing now, since he is old and broken down. He should be out there dishing the ball and shooting high percentage shots. Instead he's out there playing Me7o ball - shooting off balance contested jumpers to get in his shots, playing lazy to no defense and generally bringing a selfish, lackadaisical play on the court.

Everywhere Melo has been it's either the coaches' fault, his teammates fault, the organization's fault, etc. Never Melo's fault.

And for the record, labeling someone as a scorer to excuse the poor efficiency doesn't work. An inefficient player is an inefficient player regardless of how you label him.

Just as we all (almost) would have felt if he re-upped after that kind of year with us.

He’s an inefficient scorer who doesn’t defend. Guys like that don’t start. Not sure how you can refute the touches thing when they track it, but ok. His defense was horrible and he wasn’t hitting shots. Not blaming him for the whole thing is fine, but he was a major part. Take off the Melo glasses for a second and look at this objectively.

You also didn’t answer my question.

Meh, I’d be more interested in assist opportunities than just assists. Wonder if that’s on nba.com’s stats.

Nah, Phil knew exactly what kind of character this dude was and he was the man for pushing him out of town. I'll always respect Phil for that.

only problem though is Phil committed the original sin of giving him a NTC which was a monumental fuqup on Phil's part

He didn't give him anything, Melo's camp demanded he have a NTC. Dolan ordered Phil to bring back Melo at all cost because Melo is James Dolan's guy. Dolan is the guy who demanded that the Knicks trade for Melo so no way was he going to allow him to just walk for nothing in free agency.

You can't prove any of that, but even if you're 100% correct that still makes Phil either a sucker or a slut for money or both.

I'd like to see the Bucks win, but I think the refs help Boston win the game comfortably

Well, so far the Bucks appear like they’re trying to help Boston win.

It is what it is with Melo, I’m intrigued to see what happens with the Cavs.

I don’t think they’ll lose but you never know.

being able to get to the 2nd round with your two top players out is a pretty big accomplishment. it's making all the other guys better and when they're back next year they're gonna be even tougher.
