The sample size is still super small, especially for his midrange jumpers. I wouldn't read to much into that efficiency-wise, but his inability to find other spots on offense to be effective has hurt him. Missing too much around the rim doesn't help either.

For sure, I'm not saying it's something the defence is doing to make him miss jump shots. But they do represent 70% of his half-court attempts so that's it's worth mentioning when you look at his efficiency.

I agree he's looked a little bit less effective around the rim. Almost like he's so focused on getting there that he fumbles it a bit when he actually sees daylight.

I think Harden could fall to no. 3 if LeBron/Davis keep this up...

Literally not even close to reality.

Davis has had two phenomenal games, one great game and one good game.

Harden has had one phenomenal game, one great game, two ok games and one horrific game. That game 1 is still making Harden's averages look good, after that he's shooting 36% from the field.

47-10 with 1 assist is phenomenal? It isn't hard in that one to make the case that Jrue Holiday was the better player on his own team.

Harden did do a bit of a no show in game 2, but otherwise he's been absolutely great. Unlike AD Harden can beat teams without scoring and he's doing just that.

Harden's overall playoff stats are extremely impressive, not that AD's aren't, but unless AD starts being able to do more than score, there's no reasonable case to move him over Harden given there is a massive gap to start with.

Anthony Davis doesn't do anything except score.

Hmm, tough to slot Westbrook, will have to let that one ruminate for a day or two, 1 or 2 with Jokic feels right for now. Nobody from the Wiz makes it on.

Aldridge

I want Utah to make the Finals now. I want it to be Utah vs. Philly. And looking at these brackets...it's possible.

It's because that game 2 is making him look bad lol you can't pick and choose games when looking at a five game sample size

Actually when looking at such a small sample, I think paying extra attention to each individual game becomes much more crucial. It's certainly more telling than simply looking at the averages across the sample.

Man New Orleans’ defense has completely fallen apart. The whole point of switching screens is that you don’t give up dumb little back cuts and open looks. David West and now Iguodala have slipped them right to the rim like three times now and Durant is having no trouble against the three guard lineup with no one even close to his height. Communication ha been so, so bad.

Also Darius Miler should just not play the rest of the game. I counted like 5 defensive errors in 4 minutes of play. I know they really don’t have any depth but you can’t get roasted by David West.

Warriors are exploiting the Pel's awful defensive awareness, but this is pretty much what should be expected. They'll recover some but this isn't going to be a long series unless the pelicans really really step it up defensively.

Yeah, when Draymond successfully posts up Rondo, time to stop switching guys.

This was just a matchup problem. Playoffs aren't always even about talent (though GSW wins there too).

Meanwhile we see guys like AD in a favorable matchup get people going crazy and then they switch to a team that they don't match up and look, players dont' play as well. Mind you AD's still going to get his in a few games in this series.

This was the game to steal. Series is over now. I say that as somebody who hates overreactions. With Curry coming back, it's done.

At least we have these six games now which are just further evidence that Steph Curry isn't the **** be-all-end-all on this team and that Durant is still a monster, Draymond is a great passer, and Thompson could FOR SURE be an all-star (and then some) without Curry. So that's cool.

Basketball teams are like everything else in the universe. Atoms, molecules, compounds, all that ****. If you take one component out, the whole thing doesn't just disappear. It reformulates in order to make a new...thing. So anybody who doesn't think that a defense led by DPOY Dray, very good KD, still-very-good-when-healthy Iggy, and dependable Klay is going to be strong is simply wrong. And that an offense with all that shooting, playmaking, discipline, and moxie, led by an all-time great offensive player in Kevin Durant isn't going to be strong is wrong.

Not an indictment on Curry. Curry has proven without Durant he does some special ****. To me, Curry is better than he was even in 2016, and he's still a top-3 player this year, missed games be damned. I'd still take Curry over Harden for example. It's a testament to Curry's portability that as strong as this team is without him, he makes them probably the GOAT team. So before anybody says this sniping at Curry, it for sure is not.

But GSW has a lot of other really good players, especially their core (I will grant that their depth isn't as good as 2017). I can't think of a trio of players in the NBA better than the Durant/Klay/Green triumvirate, let alone adding a dynamo like Curry to them.

Idk. Without Curry I don’t really see a big matchup advantage GS has. The Warriors haven’t looked great outside that 2nd quarter explosion and they’ve been atrocious here in the third.

The Pels just can’t survive Jrue having a 4/14, five foul night with Davis having a bad game as well.
