Let’s be real, the Celtics would probably sweep this Sixers team with Hayward and Kyrie.

Celtics win comfortably with just Kyrie and no Hayward.

With the upgrade on the bench, Sixers aren't blowing leads like they did in London. Sixers could win in Six even with Kyrie, and maybe Hayward, too.

Nah. C's in 5 with Kyrie.

With Hayward too it would be ugly

Sixers will win because of their shooting, probably we will not be able to keep it up when the starters are on the bench. And to make it even worse, celtics big rotation it's unbalanced, too much slow centers and almost no PFs.

I was incorrect . Good job

You're welcome. To recap our exchange:

The Celtics are an inferior team to the Sixers this year based on the most important metrics (Point differential and SRS). That's why they are going to lose this series.

Just like last year where when they finally ran into a statistically superior team in the Cavs, they got hammered in 5 games.

The series will be fun. I look forward to it. Sixers 3 point shooters are a concern but we will see how the Celtics defend them.

You didn't watch any of the games. Horford is not a good match up for Embiid

I do not like or respect the 76ers as an organization. I think their blatant tanking was shameful and should not be rewarded. It's going to feel really good watching a very injured Celtics team knock them out.

That said...this is a real rivalry. Just like the Celtics vs the Lakers. This one has meaning. This is not a fake Toronto rivalry. It's a damn shame the Celtics wont have Irving or Gordon

Like the 26-16-6 stat line he put up the last game against Horford? The only bad game Embiid had against the Celtics was the 2nd game of the season when he literally just returned from injury. After 10 months of inactivity.

Nah I stand by point differential and srs being useless stats in the playoffs. We shall see though

You're going to wish the Celtics decided to Trust The Process instead of prematurely trying to win now on the backs of inferior talent, and thereby capping the upside of their rebuild. You'll see the consequences of that over the next decade, starting with this series.

Named them a few pages back. But I'd take

Davis
Cousins
Towns
Aldridge
Gobert

That's nothing against embiid but imo he is at the moment overrated along with simmons

I'm shocked.

Sixers won 52 games being lead by an overrated rookie and sophomore. Okay.

Let me break it down for you. Aldridge ahead of Embiid is just silly. Gobert is basically Embiid on defense with a much more limited offensive skillset. Towns is not nearly impactful enough on defense to be put on Embiid's level, let alone better than him. Boogie I disagree with but I won't scoff at you for believing that. AD, sure.

Sixers in 6. In 7 if the first few early games get rough.

Some of you must have waited tons of years to release the smack talk you kept inside. Go ahead

Philly is no joke. Belineli and Ilyasova were huge gets for them and their shooting has really opened things up for their stars. Toss in Covington and Reddick and you have plenty of guys to sharpshoot off Simmons drives and Embiid post ups. I’ll say Celtics in 7 because both teams are essentially a rough draft of their true potential right now. Gonna be a fun series

Assuming you're referring to the thread itself and both fan bases, which I agree with. Flinging opinions is annoying, which there is a lot of that going on in this thread.

No its not lol.

In fact, Bill Simmons on his podcast has been arguing that they're both top 15 players.

LOL thats why I brought him up.

He said Embiid and Simmons were both top 15 players, despite being a Celtics fans.
