Now you know why everyone despises Celtics fans. Pretentious stuff like this is a prime example.

Should be a great series! Tough enough trying to stop Embiid & Simmons let alone all the 3pt shooting the 6ers have now.

I lean towards Sixers in 6 or 7 games.

Philadelphia was much stronger team over the last two months just level above celtics. Frankly it doesn't seem like a close series.

I think 76ers have a good shot of taking it in 5 games.

Anyway it's going to be really interesting to see celtics and stevens finally playing against a basketball team.

Arsenal wrote:Yeah Stevens is a great regular season coach but his playoff record is nothing special.

2015: 8th seed Celtics (40-42) get swept 4-0 by 1st seed Cavaliers (57-25)

2016: 5th seed Celtics (48-34) lose 4-2 to 4th seed Hawks (48-34)

2017: 1st seed Celtics (53-29) win 4-2 vs 8th seed Bulls (41-41)
1st seed Celtics win 4-3 vs 4th seed Wizards (49-33)
1st seed Celtics lose 4-1 vs 2nd seed Cavaliers (51-31)

2018: 2nd seed Celtics (55-27) win 4-3 vs 7th seed Bucks (44-38)

There's nothing impressive about his playoff results. His strength is getting mediocre teams to overachieve in the regular season, but that doesn't work in the playoffs against better teams.

Based upon their relative seeding they've been unimpressive in the playoffs, which is to be expected if they're overachieving in the regular season.

yea, it's nothing impressive, considering our personnel tho it's pretty freaking amazing. Put the injuries in there and it's freaking good. Aaand this season we won more games than you with Gordon missing the entire season( while Saric was fairly healthy) and Kyrie being out for around 30 games. So yea when you look deeper it's fairly impressive.

Vegas does too, we have the best odds in the East and the third best overall. Regardless, you're looking to the future the same as we are, lol... You're excited about Kyrie/Hayward, we're excited about Embiid/Simmons.

Ehm, we're excited about a lot more, tbh. Tatum, Brown. Potentially Grayson Allen from our duke farm.

Definitely don't care as much as you. Gotta be honest tho, would still enjoy the win after all the smack talk and lack of respect from you guys along with our 2 best players hurt.

There was always going to be a huge risk Kyrie would miss a chunk of the season, which is why you got him cheap. Kyrie is very talented but it is just who he is, unfortunately. Hopefully the same excuse will not be used next year if he cannot keep upright. Hayward was unfortunate. No sane person would have expected that.

Would you be better or worse without Simmons and Embiid if this is an excuse? And would it be considered an excuse or a fact if they were to miss a ton of games?

Ainge would have been aware of Kyrie's injury history and would realise that the cavs would not have given you a fully healthy Kyrie for the assets given, so an already injured player missing time due to injury is to be expected. If we get Kawhi at a discount and he ends reinjuring himself, we have nobody else to blame. If Ainge wants a healthy player, then he shouldn't be trading for one like Kyrie and then using his absence as an excuse. If Embiid went down with injury, then tough luck. He fell to us because of his injury history. I doubt Kyrie or Embiid would be on our respective teams of they were healthy.

Ainge was in bad position with ANY of the Celts pick not materializing into a franchise player, unlike according to plan. So he took that risk. And for me, he won that Cavs deal with or without the injury. Its not like IT was also healthy. And quite frankly that nets pick doesnt amount much after all the hype of this draft gets wiped away
