Several DL in this class who are better than Bradley Chubb. Bosa, Dex, Oliver, Wilkins & probably Gary just to name a few. Wish the Niners just traded their 2018 pick for a pick in 2019.

Gregory Little - T - Rebels

Athlon Sport's Rob McVey said Ole Miss junior LT Gregory Little's athleticism is "off the charts."

Little (6'5/318) has started since his freshman year in 2016 and earned second-team All-SEC honors as a sophomore. McVey believes "he could be the first offensive lineman to have his name called at the 2019 NFL Draft" if he shows that athleticism off at the combine. His pass-blocking ability was Little's biggest strength last season, and if he can improve on run-blocking it wouldn't be surprising to see him selected in the first round.

Raekwon Davis - DL - Crimson Tide

Athlon Sport's Rob McVey said Alabama junior DL Raekwon Davis "projects to be among the first names called in the 2019 NFL Draft."

McVey said Davis has a "freakish combination of size, speed, and athleticism" that "helped him dominate during Alabama’s stellar College Football Playoff run to the national title." He believes Davis will "wreak havoc" on opposing offenses in 2018 and find himself climbing up draft boards throughout the season. After leading the Tide's stellar defense with 8.5 sacks, Davis earned himself All-SEC honors in 2017. Another solid season could lock-in Davis to be selected near the top of the draft.

A.J. Brown - WR - Rebels

Athlon Sport's Rob McVey said Ole Miss junior WR A.J. Brown has "all the tools NFL scouts look for in an elite receiver."

McVey also mentioned Brown "has linebacker size, the skill set of a top-tier running back after the catch." Brown is coming off a 75/1252/11 campaign as a sophomore in which he led the SEC in touchdowns catches and receiving yards. McVey believes Brown is "poised to better those numbers in 2018 as a key component of Ole Miss’ high-octane passing attack." If he is able to do that and produces a good athletic composite score, Brown has a good shot to be selected in the first round.

Drew Lock - QB - Tigers

Athlon Sport's Rob McVey has Missouri senior QB Drew Lock as the No. 1 SEC 2019 draft prospect to watch.

Lock (6'4/225) has gained a lot of hype early this year as a player to watch. McVey writes "He will need to improve his accuracy and footwork during his senior campaign to maximize his draft stock. However, Lock already has the ideal size and arm strength that NFL general managers drool over." Lock was first-team All-SEC in 2017 after throwing 44 touchdown passes. If he can build on last year's success, he has a good chance to be one of the first players selected in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Shea Patterson - QB - Wolverines

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson transferred to Michigan in order to have a chance at a national title.

This is a logical reason as Ole Miss currently has a postseason ban due to NCAA sanctions. Patterson said "I can live with throwing an interception in the national championship game. Or to get there, in the playoff. It might be hard to live with that — but I don’t know if I could have lived with not being able to to get the chance to compete for one." Patterson won't be handed the starting job however as HC Jim Harbaugh said there will be an open quarterback competition. We think Patterson will win the job and provide a significant boost to the Wolverines offense in 2018.

Dexter Lawrence - DL - Tigers

SB Nation's Dan Kadar projects Dexter Lawrence to be selected by the Cleveland Browns No. 1 overall in his 2019 mock draft.

Kadar explains, "After trading Danny Shelton to the New England Patriots, the Browns could be in the market for a defensive tackle in 2019." He believes it would currently be a "coin-flip" between Lawrence and Houston DT Ed Oliver. Lawrence could fall down draft boards if he can't fully heal from foot and ankle injuries which limited him during the 2017 season and 2018 spring practices. Clemson HC Dabo Swinney said they are just playing it safe, but it's something to watch for this season.

Saivion Smith - DB - Crimson Tide

The Associated Press' Nate Brown believes that Alabama junior DB Saivion Smith is a breakout candidate for the 2018 season.

Smith (6'3/191) was a five-star recruit in LSU's 2016 class, but bounced down to the JUCO ranks after failing to make much hay on the Tigers depth chart. He subsequently signed on with Alabama over this most recent winter. Beyond his pure talent, Smith is looking at a golden opportunity to make an immediate impact in Tuscaloosa this coming season, as Alabama's secondary is being more/less completely rebuilt this offseason due to departures for the draft from multiple key contributors.

Gregory Rousseau - DL - Hurricanes

ESPN's Tom VanHaaren lists Miami (FL) DL Gregory Rousseau as an early enroll player that could make an impact in 2018.

Most of the players VanHaaren lists are quarterbacks -- and with good reason -- but Rousseau has a chance to make an impact on the Hurricane defense as a freshman. While he wasn't the most high-profile recruit -- most services had him as a three-star prospect -- Rousseau has excellent size (6'7/250) and according to VanHaaren he "had dominant flashes during the spring and his development is way ahead of where the staff thought he would be." This is definitely a player to keep an eye on moving forward.

...Trade back and draft Derwin James would have bee perfect outcome for us. We did a poor job in managing this year’s draft. The 2019 RB class is super weak too; so if there’s a sure thing in the first round it might force us to draft such player very early, and then wait for round two to address the DT position since it’s so deep.

Jeffery Simmons - DL - Bulldogs

Trey Scott of 247 Sports writes that Mississippi State DL Jeffery Simmons could be a first-round pick in 2019.

On the football field, Simmons being a potential first-rounder is easy to understand. He was one of the most dominant defenders in college football according to Pro Football Focus, and the eye test backs that up. It's the off-the-field issues that make Simmons a volatile -- and borderline troubling -- Day One candidate. There is video tape of him punching a woman repeatedly, and he plead no contest to charges of simple assault and malicious mischief. The talent is obvious, but a team will have to do a lot of homework -- and answer a lot of questions even if they feel confident that there won't be a repeat incident -- before taking Simmons.

Collin Johnson - WR - Longhorns

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller prospects the Cowboys to take Texas junior WR Collin Johnson in his 2019 mock draft.

The Cowboys didn't address wide receiver until the third round when they selected Colorado State's Michael Gallup. While we're fans of the former CSU wideout, it's tough to say he solves their need for a big-play receiver. Johnson wouldn't come until next year, but he just might help cure some of those woes. "Johnson does need to improve upon his production from the last two seasons and prove to scouts he can run well enough to separate from NFL defenders," writes Miller, "but his size and hands are already getting buzzed about as teams prepare for the upcoming college season."

Dwayne Haskins - QB - Buckeyes

With the transfer announcement of Ohio State redshirt junior QB Joe Burrow, redshirt sophomore Dwayne Haskins should now be considered the frontrunner to start this year.

Haskins technically remains in competition with redshirt freshman Tate Martell, but for all intents and purposes now that Burrow's out of the picture, it's his starting job unless he has an unexpected stumble in August camp or runs into some sort of health issue. There were corners of the OSU universe which were calling for Haskins to start over J.T. Barrett during the 2017 season, though that did not ultimately come to pass. In his most extensive spot of work last fall, he hit on 6-of-7 passes for 94 yards versus Michigan (plus 24 rushing yards) after Barrett was forced out with a knee injury. Ohio State has all kinds of skill-position toys for Haskins to play around with assuming he does win the starting job this summer.

Raekwon Davis - DL - Crimson Tide

Alabama junior DL Raekwon Davis registered eight tackles and a pair of sacks during the team's A-Day spring game.

ESPN's Alex Scarborough tags Davis as the standout spring performer for the defending champs, noting that the 6-foot-7, 315-pounder possesses "freakish athleticism." "Freak" is a word we've heard in more than one scouting report. The junior was an All-SEC performer for the 2017 campaign on the strength of 69 tackles (10.0 for loss), 8.5 sacks and an interception logged across 13 games played. He's one of a number of draft-eligible players who could help make the 2019 defensive line class a truly special one.

Bryce Love - RB - Cardinal

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Stanford senior RB Bryce Love as his top tailback in his way-too-early 2019 draft board.

Love is ranked 10th, and he's one of two running backs on Kiper's list; joining Oklahoma's Rodney Anderson. Love put up monster numbers -- even when he wasn't healthy -- but some don't seem terribly sold on the 5-foot-10, 184-pound tailback as a first-round pick. Kiper doesn't seem to be one of those people. As Kiper summarizes: " year after Christian McCaffrey averaged 6.3 yards per carry and caught 37 passes on his way to the top 10 of the draft, all Love did was average 8.1 yards per carry last season. What he will want to do more is catch passes, because he's slippery in space."

Daylon Mack - DL - Aggies

ESPN's Alex Scarborough lists Texas A&M senior Daylon Mack as the player who stood out the most during the Aggies' spring practices.

Mack was a huge get for the Texas A&M defense in 2015 -- he was ESPN's sixth ranked player -- but as Scarborough notes, he hasn't stood out on the field. That could change this year. "This spring, the defensive tackle showed up in better condition," writes Scarborough, "and that was clear during the spring game, in which he had a sack on his first play of the game." This could be the breakout season for Mack that Texas A&M fans have been waiting for.
