Great start from Boston, liked what I saw from a defensive standpoint, trying to limit Simmons's driving lanes and passing opportunities. Contested the shooters (JJ, Bellinelli, Ersan) and ran them off the line when possible. There will be games where their guys get hot, it's inevitable.
On offense, obviously Boston won't shoot as well and Philly will likely adjust their defensive schemes and play with more effort in general. The team'll definitely have those scoring droughts like the Bucks series, where guys go cold. But I was extremely encouraged by us attacking guys like Redick and Marco, and Horford is always a decent failsafe when things aren't going well.
Embiid is definitely an issue, although despite the stat line, I feel like we played him fairly well, letting him go 1 on 1 with Horford and Baynes, and earning his 2s. Still concerning he dropped 31 despite forcing some turnovers with strong defense, and he did miss a few bunnies as well.
Ultimately, liked what I saw, this series will definitely be a grind. Just hope Brown is back soon, and for guys to keep working hard. On to Game 2 now, Sixers will definitely come out guns blazing. Go Celtics!
