Should the Rockets trade Eric Gordon?

Post#1 » by Lazy Faizy » Thu May 3, 2018 9:46 pm

Whether we win it all this season or not, I think we should trade this guy. Or get him out of the rotation. He has been terrible the last 2 postseason runs, including this year. It's so frustrating to watch him chuck 3 after 3 after 3 while missing most of them. He sucks. I think he's afraid of the big stage.

Thoughts?

No. He’s a dynamic 6MOY type player. Perfect fit for D’Antoni’s system as well.

I feel he's a 6moy player in the regular season, but he shrinks in the playoffs. He's done it for 2 seasons now. I think we'd be fine without him. I'm actually surprised every time he makes a 3 now (in the playoffs), when in the regular season I expect him to make those.

I doubt there are many.

No.
I think you drastically undervalue EG.

Unless it lands the team an All-Star wing like PG or LBJ, I don't think you break up the best guard rotation in the league.

Nope. Keep EG. Pretty much ideal 6man for this Rockets team. I'll live with a few bad games here and there. Even when he isn't hitting, he still forces defenses to extend creating space for the Harden/CP3 pick and rolls. He is also a plus defender.

NOPE. When you factor in how much he makes, and how much of a professional he is, you'd be hard pressed to find an adequate replacement.

Yes, first round pick and Gordon to Jazz for a 2nd round pick.

Rockets save at least $69 million dollars.
