He was an assistant before, being a head coach even in the d league shouldn't be discounted. He is the guy making the decisions, managing minutes and relationships. 2 straight d league finals appearances when both his teams had different players. Must count for something, not seeing the arrogance.

I am not trying to discount him i just think there are more qualified coaches. I saw a little arrogance in those youtube videos, maybe i am overinterpreting

For me the main positive for Stackhouse is that by being a G-league head coach, by definition his job is to lead player development. That (and team defense training) is a major undertaking for Orlando do's next coach.

Stack sounds like solid choice. Should ink a contract before some other team takes him.

I think he's got the ego and cred that AG would thrive on...AG's (IMO) like a football guy, if you tell him "run through that wall" he wants to say "OK coach"...he just doesn't want to later find out he's been embarrassed to be listening to the wrong guy. I don't see AG as rebellious or a coach killer and I took his comments the other day as an awkward but well-meaning way of saying that...he wants to be held accountable.

Suns Hire Igor Kokoskov As Head Coach

I know some liked the idea of him. The coaching carousel is still full of interesting options though.

I find it troubling there doesn’t seem to be any media conjecture floating around. Only here do we hear anything about Nurse or Stackhouse. Outside of the guy from the Blazers we haven’t heard a lot. This makes me think there’s a left field candidate in the works like Jacque Vaughn. I also won’t be surprised if we get a name power coach like Kevin McHale or Jason Kidd. Not that I’m endorsing either guy.

Does it worry anyone else that there hasn’t been that much interest around the league in Nurse or Stackhouse? Knicks, Suns, Bucks, etc have hired supposedly-lesser names. It sort of concerns me that Magic fans are thrilled that Nurse and Stack are still available somehow and are the best options. Our franchise gets this wrong A LOT. Will we look back in 3 years and call Stack a bum? Or be happy when Nurse is fired? All the while Phoenix, Milwaukee, and the Knicks might flourish. I guess we’ll see but I just wish we would’ve won our new coach or he would’ve picked us and turned down everyone else. At least then I’d feel he was wanted and hopefully for a good reason.

I’m not thrilled with Nurse or Stackhouse as possibilities either. I’d be more interested in a guy like Monty William, David Blatt or Messina

“Supposedly”-lesser names, on this board primarily.

I saw that Nurse was already interviewed by another team and now I see one of Philly's assistants was already interviewed by another team, so I guess this whole waiting for a team to get eliminated isn't common anymore, or never was?
