poorly evaluated?

Vaughn was really young, but was statistically mediocre in his college season, and also a limited athlete.

Wilson was an old project, with statistical projection more in line with a 2 rather than 4.

I was jazzed for Thon, but I also thought he was 4 years younger.

BTW, I don't expect him to stay in, but I like Kris Wilkes. Think he'll blow up next year if he comes back.

Pretty surprised that Deng Adel, Ray Spalding, and Gary Clark didn't get combine invites.

Also, I still like Newman in the second by the way. Really good shooter and was a tremendous rebounder and defender during their tournament run. Seems like the latter is to stay if you can keep his confidence high. Solid combo guard with some PG-upside.

Also slightly adapted my stance on Jontay Porters defensive outlook. Wouldn't mind him with out pick anymore. Still prefer Melton though.

I'm afraid he doesn't have either of those things going for him.

Yes. Might be youngest player in the draft and will likely be at 7 feet. We really need to know how hard he's going to work on his body - still has baby fat that makes him appear to be unathletic. Ridiculous skills for his age - 3 point shooting range, passing, cutting, etc. and sees the floor much better than his more heralded brother. Probably doesn't have length and athleticism to be a great defender. At worst, he becomes Greg Monroe with more shooting range, imo.

I see like a modern NBA Sam Perkins with Porter. I like his game a lot and if he can become an aggressive rebounder, with his range he could be a nice asset for us.

Call me crazy but I have JJJr. nr. 1 on my board right now ahead of Doncic.

Also Bamba's 'jumpshot' is so far away. At least has been during the regular season as he seems to work on it. Still a solid prospect. His athleticism is also overrated. He's pretty slow off the ground but makes up for it with his wingspan. His low foul rate is very impressive though. Averages nearly as much blocks as Jackson per 40 with nearly half the fouls.

I think there's 5 legit guys with an argument for number one overall.

Bamba
Ayton
Doncic
JJJ
Bagley

I don't think Bamba or Jackson Jr belong in the conversation about 1st pick. I personally think Doncic is hands down the best player but I could be wrong. 3 headed race maybe; Doncic Ayton Bagley

I don't see a reason why one would ever pick Bagley first. JJJ got a legitimate case, elite rim protector with a 3p shot + one of the youngest prospects. Bagley is questionable defensively and doesn't really have a position. But yeah, Bamba doesn't belong here.

ESPN has managed this acquisition horribly. You can’t navigate ESPN’s draft coverage even a tenth as well as you could navigate DX. Plus they completely wasted the SEO value of the site by failing to redirect pages correctly. Whoever is managing ESPN’s website is a moron.

I think Bamba is an all time great defensive prospect and his touch on his jumper looks very projectable. Didn't really get the opportunity to develop it much. A lot of people questioned KAT's ability to shoot given the way he was used at Kentucky. I have him as number one on my board which won't be popular but I feel like if you can wait on his natural physical development you'll have what many were hoping Thon could become.

ETA: I see a lot of mocks with him falling to 8. If that were to happen I'd love to see us go get that pick (though I don't think they'd consider making a non win now move, despite Bamba being able to help us right away). Don't think our "GM" is savvy enough. I'd dangle Bledsoe/Thon/17 for Smith/8 or maybe something bigger.

Huh? Right now he's launching a catapult. There have been players with much better shooting forms out there that didn't develope an outside shot. A little hope with the recent footage but still.
JJJ is just a straight up better prospect defensively imo. I personally have Bamba over Dayton so I get your hype somewhat.

Euroleague final four performance of Luka will be very important. Because generally people remember the near past much clearer.

I agree. Think Malik Newman would be an awesome get in the 2nd round.
