Sadly, it seems like the butt whoopin' is leading to direct comparisons and thus forcing us to relive the horror.

I am for sure. He’s getting warmed up to lay the smack down on the Celtics. Have a feeling we are going to see Alice averaging 3.3 rebounds per game reeeeeaallll soon. And possibly a titty tear. Wonder why they call ya. (Horbag’s new nickname)

I haven't seen/heard anyone mention us though. I typically listen to NBARadio at work and I haven't heard any hosts or callers make the connection. The "A" in ATL stands for anonymous. Which is a good thing, in this instance. :)

...interesting. I JUST LISTENED TO THE Nate Duncan Dunc'd on Basketball/REAL GM podcast.

They made the comparison in the first 5 minutes.

There's a realgm podcast? What's a 'Nate Duncan'? Seriously though, is it a good listen? I sometimes need something to occupy my time while I'm on the sidelines watching kg02 and kg03 skraight wreckin' fools on the soccer and baseball fields.

It's...informative. Very much a nerd-tastic breakdown of on-court and front-office action. They record after the last game is played at night, so it's always fresh in the AM when I get to work.

I listen on my phone via stitcher. Just look up NBA and Dunc'd on should be on that looooong list towards the top.

Oh yea. Since we're terrible now I get my pleasure in preserving the 2014-15 season as much as possible and not only was I thrilled when the raptors didn't win 60, but now I'm really happy that they won't sniff the ECF either.

Man, Al Horford is playing better this post season than maybe at any playoffs before.

The Celtics rise from mediocre 48 win team can be traced directly back to their acquisition of Horford.

Does this young Boston team have a legit shot against this underwhelming Cavs squad in the ECF?

aaaaand, it's starting:

Read on Twitter

Atlanta Hawks

Playoff record vs. LeBron: 0-12

Crushed by the King in: 2009 conference semis (4-0), 2015 conference finals (4-0), 2016 conference semis (4-0)

Star players to fail include: Al Horford, Joe Johnson, Kyle Korver, Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague

Three chances. Three! Zero wins. Zero!

The Hawks built a team so complete that all five starters were awarded player of the month, yet they couldn’t combine for a single victory against The King when they had seven more regular-season wins. And don’t get us started about 2016.

I'm too young to have seen Jordan play but over the past few years I've grown to appreciate having the opportunity to watch Lebron play basketball. Never more so than this year, when I'm not rooting for his demise so that the Hawks can avoid him in the playoffs.

Alice is gonna get Lebroned as usual. What a bum!
No, but it’s kind of clear that you are a Celtics fan even though you’re a Hawks fan I guess. You post an awful lot about the Celtics. It’s kind of like being a Dodgers fan and rooting for the Giants. Smh.

:D

Just think, If King James plays until he is 50 years old, we only have 17 more years until he retires. Then,
maybe Atlanta will have a chance. The way he is playing, it might be possible.

He and turncoat Horford seem to be headed for a head to head meeting this spring. That will mean that
I can't pull for both teams to lose. Drat! If Horford had played this well when he was here, Hawks might
have done better. He was good while he was here, but not this good. Our own Benedict Arnold.

I may be wrong. It seems to me that the playoffs are much more physical than the regular season. And
the teams that have been through this before are coming out much better than the newcomers. When
the Hawks do get back to the playoffs, we will be that inexperienced team.

8-)

I'm an AL Horford fan. Something I have never really hidden.

I have been very impressed by the speed/effectiveness of their rebuild and hope ours works out as well.

And, no. I haven't posted on the Celtics board in almost a year.

I just really enjoy good basketball. I didn't think Boston would get past MIL or Philly. Now that they are on the precipice of another ECF, I'd like to see some team actually challenge Lebron in the Final Four.

PS I was simply posting about the one NBA game I saw yesterday. The less talented team won. The difference seemed to largely be experience and coaching.

Something to keep in mind for our own rebuild.

Fair enough. Just wanted to make sure that if we play the Celtics, you were still on our side.

No, doubt. I just know we're a long way from contending again. If Philly isn't going to crash the NBA Finals this year, then I'll just root for Houston and Boston to prevent a fourth straight Cavs-Ws Finals.

Unless that's something you're interested in. Yet again.

Another observation from the one game I watched yesterday, Philly used Embiid quite a bit in the post where he dominated inside against lesser defenders.

If we end up with D Ayton/W Carter, this is an effective way to get easy buckets against inferior defenders for those guys.

Alice gets confused often when coaches draw up plays so I’m not surprised he was confused yet again...starting to think he’s just dumb..lol.

"Sometimes he draws stuff up, and I look at it, I'm like [confused]," Horford said while playfully scrunching his face. "But Marcus delivered it, great pass, I missed some shots that I normally make there, but I made that one, so it was good."
