Sad day but great for Igor, now we just need to promote Johnnie Bryant.

Stevens is the one who has built the roster. His ability to make them look better than what they actually are has enabled Danny Ainge to ream other teams in trades.

I don’t understand what you mean. Ainge is the one who had the balls to trade away Garnett and Pierce at the end of the careers and started the whole rebuild.

Ainge got lucky, no one expected Brooklyn to end up being so bad. Stevens on the other hand has made average players look like stars. He is the one who made it possible to get Kyrie for Thomas, Crowder and a late top 10 pick, he was the one who was able to attract Horford and Hayward. Ainge deserves credit for having the balls to make big decisions but Stevens makes it easy for him by being so good at getting the best out of his players.

Do you consider Ainge a top 5 GM?

Yes....For sure. He's done a great job with picking out and up talent. Draft and free agents.

It's the type of offense that seems like it can only work because of LeBron's presence. He covers up for a lot of that team's red flags.

The thing about these no passing offenses (CLE and HOU) is that they almost never turn the ball over. LeBron has the ball 90% of the time and the only passes he makes lead directly to shots. There's just no chance for a turnover in that situation.

I think both team's are onto something. The beautiful game might lose to eye sore basketball this year.

What about these Celtics? 3x0 against those said favorites 76ers. I am kind of rooting for The Celtics. I think Embiid and mainly Simmons are too full of themselves, saying stupid things at the worst possible time.

They are young, probably that will serve as a lesson learned for them.

Me too. They are incredible to watch. Brad Stevens is the real deal and Al Horford might be my new favorite player.

That was an insane game. Holy friggin' Celtic underdogs. It is easy to viscerally dislike the Celtics because, you know, Boston is bored with their franchises winning championships and the entitled part of that. But this Celts team, minus Whoward in Game 1 and Kyrie in the playoffs. Wow. I chatted with my Celts bro and said, "You guys do not need Haywood. Trade him for picks and young talent if you guys want to do a dynasty thing again." He replied, " No ****."

Yeah I have noticed this as well, and I think this is why the Jazz turn the ball over more too. It's hard to say what the right why to run your offense is. The thing I like about hte Jazz offense is that I believe that having players touch the ball, even if they aren't shooting keep them in the game a little more and potentially not go cold.

Do you think he's impressed with the Celtics rookies? He's been like the 3rd best rookie in the playoffs, but people that really know basketball know he's the ROY, 100%. :-D

Now Hood is down to .133 on threes through ten playoff games. He's made a grand total of two threes. He can't defend. His minutes are falling. If the playoffs were to end today, I think the market for Hood will be very weak this summer. Hood may have dropped all the way from being mentioned in the Gary Harris class at the beginning of the season to a mid level journeyman as this season closes. What do you think?

I don't expect his fortunes will rise if Cleveland keeps going. I don't see him getting much minutes or having success playing against Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart or Klay Thompson. And James Harden logged his career high points playing against Hood.

I has no idea CLE was going to run the table on the Raptors. Seriously, I thought that was going to be competitive. Can the Jazz have Korver back? (Sorry about Hood, CLE fans, but we warned you). And given Celts basically toying with Philly - another unexpected result out East. WC is to form - HOU and GSW basically imposing their will for the WCF finals everyone on the planet predicted last July. I would really love to see the best 16 teams in the league playoff format in the future, (not going to happen), but, I swear, its just not fair to have to get through both Houston and GSW in the WCF. It is so lopsided its silly. No way Blazers get swept in first round out east, for example.

Raptors got smoked.

I feel bad for them. At least we have Donovan Mitchell, they got nothing going for them.

Out of the rotation, Cavs' Rodney Hood reportedly refused to enter last night's game in garbage time

Snip: "Rodney Hood refused to enter the game when summoned in the fourth quarter Monday, angering a number of teammates, according to multiple sources. It was the only blemish on an otherwise impressive series sweep for the Cavs."

Wow. What a fall from grace for Hood. He's not helping himself at all. Good decision by DL to move on from him and at least get something in return when he did. I doubted how prudent that decision was, but like with most things it seems like DL has had much better information and judgement...

This article mentions that Hood asked to be traded from Jazz, and also mentions that teammates and front office personnel will often cover for a player's bad decision if he is liked, but in this case they didn't, inferring that his teammates don't like him (I got that impression this past season in Utah as well).

Hood has gone from someone who could have potentially commanded a contract in the high teens to low 20s per year to lucky to get another contract.

Yikes, that's not a good look at all. He's killing his value right now.

Half-serious question: if Rodney ends up being available for cheap, should the Jazz actually consider bringing him back?
