Are we talking about the mystery guy that didn’t play college ball? If so I think he is closer to Robert Upshaw than AD. Despite his tools Western Kentucky was were he was going to go to school while AD was probably the biggest recruit in the last decade

This is kind disingenuous if you followed his recruiting at all. He was one of the highest ranked recruits in his class and likely would have had his choice of pretty much any school he wanted but he committed to Texas A&M (which is nothing to scoff at) early on and then followed their coach to Western Kentucky (almost certainly being paid to do so).
Having said that I don't see him getting anywhere near AD as an NBA player lol; just saying that the idea that he can't be good because he had agreed to go to Western Kentucky is kinda missing the point.

It was Mississippi St. fwiw, but yeah he was a top 10 recruit.
The 6-foot-11, 225-pound defensive-minded big man, who plays at Chalmette High in New Orleans, previously committed to Texas A&M, where Stansbury had recruited him as an assistant coach.

Agreed on Shake. Seems to have the body and skillset (offensively and defensively) to play the 1, 2 and 3, and has consistently shot over 40% from 3. I've seen the comp of Tyreke Evans with a jumpshot, which sounds pretty darn good to me.

This team needs NBA players and if we just continue to follow the failed attempt at making length our identity, I think we'll end up passing on better prospects. Not to say length isn't important, but I don't think you need to have gigantic wingspans across the board.

Stansbury was at Mississippi State way back when he thought he was getting Jonathan Bender

i've been saying it for a while....but i could easily see him being the bucks pick
not that i'm 100% sold on him...but knowing the bucks recent history, he makes sense being their guy

they're not mutually exclusive...but yeah, i'm with you on the whole "team length" thing. i just want good solid basketball players around Giannis.
that being said, long arms and height will always help in the nba...and 3 & D wings who can switch are a huge bonus...hence why these two guys would make a lot of sense.

I just don't want to risk it on a player that had such an interesting recruitment period leading him to not play in college. It was just weird. Committed to WKU because of his uncle or something, then de-committed and was too late to go anywhere else.

The other thing that helps basketball players be good is having some sort of IQ, which there is a severe deficit of on this team. Getting a coach transplant may help part of that but I think we really need to identify more players that are smart and more players that are physical to compliment the rest of our roster.
