Bucks Draft Workouts

Post#1 » by emunney » Wed May 9, 2018 8:16 pm

Apparently we're conducting all our draft workouts in secret this year?

We had a workout with Rob Johnson and Chris Silva today, apparently. JS has an article up about Happ working out tomorrow. I would imagine other guys were/will be involved in both workouts. Figured we could use this thread to keep track.

Post what you know and I'll add it to the list.

I find it strange how most predictive statistical models absolutely love Happ but the eye test says he should never set foot on an NBA court? Does anyone who actually watches every Badger game disagree with my eye test?

Did the Bucks forget they do not have a 2nd round pick or are they looking for summer camp bodies? :D

You can get typically get a 2nd round pick. But my guess is that Dave Dean was at today's workout.

The Bucks should do a thorough due diligence in preparing for the draft.

1. If a trade comes along that would provide them a second round pick, they would need to know what that pick could be used for to value it properly.

2. Conducting workouts, combined with scouting and participating in the the Combine gives them the opportunity to improve their talent evaluation process.

3. Building a base of information on new players entering the NBA can be useful when dealing with future trades and free agent negotiations.

Weird. It’s almost like it’s a business and not NBA 2K

Bucks are better off drawing random names with the way they have picked lately.

Get Antetokounmpo in there for a workout!

Or is it even necessary given that he’s probably been there a million times w/ Giannis...

Antetokounmpo and Abudurexiti on the same team would be too much

Worth noting a few of these guys might return to school and enter next year’s draft.
