In Anticipation of the Draft Lottery

Post#1 » by Shady Franchise » Thu May 10, 2018 5:41 pm

Following the nbadraft.net mock draft order, please post your top 13 predicions. Mods feel free to merge with our draft thread if it belongs there.

1. PHX -
2. MEM -
3. DAL -
4. ATL -
5. ORL -
6. CHI -
7. SAC -
8. CLE -
9. NY -
10. PHI -
11. CHA -
12. LAC -
13. LAC -

My guess with bold picks:
1. Bamba
PHX could really use his defense and floor spacing on offense.
2. Ayton
Paired with a healthy Conley+Gasol, they could be a playoff team again.
3. Bagley
DSJ+Bagley is must see tv, and will bring buzz to Dallas in Dirk's last season.
4. Doncic
It's ATL or ORL I feel, and unfortunately we need to prepare for such a heartbreak.
5. Young
The Magic need this floor general. All of the picks below Young have question marks just as well, so why not take the highest ceiling left?
6. JJJ
Just seems like a CHI player to me. Will anchor their defense and replace Lopez eventually.
7. Porter Jr
SAC takes the gamble on his injury for the upside of a franchise talent at this spot.
8. Mikal
IMO fits like a glove with Lebron in CLE.
9. Carter
The Unicorn may be down, but Carter and Porzingis will form a complementary pair when he returns.
10. SGA
Wild guess, but here they get a lot more than a PG. His size will allow him to match up all over the back court on defense.
11. Sexton
I can see CHA picking him to be Kemba's successor.
12. Miles Bridges
I like him on LAC paired with Tobias.
13. Zhaire Smith
I think they take the high upside player here after picking safe @12. Zhaire+Miles+Tobias gives the team a nice versatile combo.

Add me to the mix on Bamba never going first. Can't see Phoenix doing that when they just hired Doncic's old coach.

OK I GET IT guys. I really do. No one thought Mitchell would be this good, but he is. Can we all get past my first pick and play along? Pretty please? Otherwise might as well merge this into the ping pong bashing thread where if it ain't Doncic or Young, you're hated (and I'm pro Doncic and Young, but man if I weren't....sheesh!). 8-)

1. PHX - Ayton
2. MEM - Doncic
3. DAL - JJ
4. ATL - Bagley
5. ORL - Trae
6. CHI - MPjr
7. SAC - Bamba
8. CLE - Sexton
9. NY - Bridges
10. PHI - Trade
11. CHA -Carter
12. LAC - SGA
13. LAC - Knox

Edit: it occurs to me that someone has to actually trade into that #10 and take a player. So slide 11-13 up one and tag the other Bridges on at the end.

See thats my issue........i dont envision him being this years Mitchell or anything. Im not a bamba fan, so i dont expect him to turn into dwight howard\Gobert mix (dwights athleticism and gobert skills) that everyone else seems to think. I see him as the next nerlens Noel, and would be much happier if we passed

Then Bamba becomes a KG / Dirk hybrid and runs of with your daughter... just because.

This is a more pathetically unforgivable sin than the Bamba at #1 prediction.

I’m guessing you’re leaning on the lazy length fetish theory? Haven’t we disproved that enough already?

Not necessarily about length, he checks few boxes. Aside from Trae, whom I suspect they won't be as high as most of fans, perhaps Bamba may interest them. It's just if they will fill C or PG spot and I'm betting on latter. Let's say it proves trading Elfrid was a part of the plan (which may or may not even exist at this point yet in any coherent way).

For every successful comparison there's always a failure. We won't know how any of these players will turn out once they come into this league. But i do like bamba a lot... and would be glad to take him at our spot..... at #1.... ehhhhhhhhhh lol
