I like both of those trades. Don't know what GM's think though. Portis for #13 and #22 makes sense for Clips IMO.

#13 for Ingram and Deng looks good for Bulls but it only looks good for Lakers if they have a guy they are targeting at #13.

On the flip side if we could get JJJ at 6 and Ingram for #22 and Portis... That would be ridiculous!

If Lakers wants to surge back to relevance this is their chance. If they clear out the $23mil from Deng and Ingram salary they can pretty much sign 3 max contracts along with retaining Ball, Randle, and Kuzma. Ingram becomes expandable because he's skills are duplicated by Lebron.

If Ingram is going to be as good as you think they are not using him as a chip to dump Deng. That would be a horrendously short-sighted move on their part. Either way this trade won't happening.

I dont' think the Lakers will keep Kuzma and Ingram together long term. If they get Lebron and PG one of them will be headed out and it will take Deng to make that happen.

Ingram is the one people are calling a future superstar so I would assume they want to keep him. LeBron is approaching his mid-thirties and PG is no superstar that can lead a contender.

I don't see a superstar in Ingram. I see a PG type of player that is going to take awhile. I actually like Brown and Tatum better than Ingram.

I would call that a win, but doubt that get trade 2 done.

Yes. Lakers trade only happens, of course, if they are desperate to clear Deng so they can afford Lebron and others max players. We could throw in Valentine for their bench.

Or...sweeten the Laker pick with a Valentine and take Bamba at 6.

Bench:
Payne Blackeney
Kilpatrick Grant
Nwaba Deng
Deng Vonleh
Rolo Felicio

Rebuild complete with future cash on the horizon. And probably another good lottery pick in 2019. A guy can dream can't he?

I'd trade for Norman Powell and his contract if we could get a 1st out of the Raps. They need to get rid of salary to regain some flexibility. Sounds like Powell just got injured at the wrong time, then OG knocked him out of the rotation and he forced the issue in very limited opportunity.

Yes please. We'd have to add an asset to that though, imo. I think all our assets are too strong to make me want to include them.

I think he's a solid player who should be better than he was this season, but where does he fit on our team? He's a bit short to really play SF and we have LaVine at SG (plus Valentine, Holiday and possibly: Nwaba, draft pick and Kilpatrick).

But if they were willing to give up a first round pick...sure.

It's not something that really stands out as a fit for us to me, more just something where it seems like a reasonable buy low.

Where is this Ingram talk coming from? Understand there would be value in them shedding Deng's contract, but dont they have enough $ for 2 max FA's already?

They don't. At a projected cap of $101MM, if they let everyone go but Deng, Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, Ball, Bryant (or Zubac), and #25, they are still at about $60MM in cap space. They need $65MM for LeBron + George.
They would however get there if they waive and stretch Deng over 5 years - very costly, but they do have deep pockets.

Hmm - what did the mid season trade of Clarkson/Lance do for them? Just open up 1 slot? I'll bet they'll get to 65+, but im not sure if it'll be at the expense of Ingram. Unless that's the only way...

I guess it's a reasonable thing to think about. I'd imagine something like this would only come together if LeBron and PG were both ready to sign.

I think Lakers will try to unload Deng by attaching Hart and 2 first rounders before they think about trading Ingram.

that trade made it where we could afford 2 max players if we stretch Deng .

This is all correct (at least based on Sham's Capulator). The choice kind of comes down to Randle vs. Ingram. They have the cap space for 2 max free agents if they waive non-guaranteed's and renounce all FA's, including Randle, and stretch Deng. Or they could trade Deng and Ingram, and have cap space for 2 max free agent's while retaining Randle's QO. In a vacuum, I think you would keep Ingram. But when you already have a Paul George, maybe having a Randle is more valuable.

Hart and 2 first rounds, is probably something I would consider, particularly depending on who we draft. If Porter is available at 6, I would consider drafting him, letting Lavine walk (or see what you could get in a S&T) and plug Hart into the SG spot.

Tyus Jones may be on the trading block because Thibs is weird.

Jones is 21, has a ts% of 57%, was 7th among point guards in RPM, and really knows how to run a smooth offense IMO.

If the guys I like at 22 are all gone (Robinson, Simons, Zhaire, Walker, Knox, Williams, Musa), I would trade it for Jones and hope he breaks out with more minutes.

Guy simply isn't worth the 22. I'd take Jones with Aldrich just to open cap flexibility for Minnesota. No chance I'd trade a pick like 22 for one season of Jones.

Jones would be a long term piece.

Give me someone tangible you're drafting at 22 that I didn't list.

Your trade is obviosuly better for the Bulls, but I can't see Minnesota doing that.
