Shaq is correct during the post game analysis. If Embiid has a bigger/similar size center on him (Marc Gasol, Rudy Gobert, or even Aaron Baynes), get the ball a little out of the post and beat them off the dribble. If he has a smaller center/stretch 4/whatever, go directly to the post. Very simple. Embiid did the right thing against Baynes with 12 seconds left, he just missed the shot. He should make that shot. I thought it was a foul on Baynes especially with the way the refs were calling so many fouls in the 4th quarter. Sixers were in the penalty with 9 minutes left and Boston in the penalty with 5 minutes left.

But Embiid has to work on his conditioning finishing at the rim. Fairly obvious Celtics have no one who can stop Embiid. They were just waiting for Embiid to settle for jumpers or get tired. Right now Embiid isn't made to log more than 35 minutes a game max. That's why he averaged 30-31 minutes a game. He simply can go that many minutes long term right now.

Biggest take away from the season for me is that Embiid made it through healthy (enough).

Just getting those damn goggles off helped him a ton yesterday. Would've been a different series without that head gear. / homer

Yeah, we forgot about his injuries and so far good, honestly, I am not scared anymore about him getting injured when watching him play, in his rookie season he had like a play or two almost every game where it looked bad, but not anymore.

My biggest take away with Embiid is small ball cant punish him but he can punish small ball. That is huge if you think hard about it.

Yes. But embiid misses way too many bunnies at the rim.

I know his 3 point shots take down his overall shooting percentage. And he settles for a lot of mid range jumpers. But he should attack the rim more with smaller guys on him. It’s likely he cannot go full force 35 minutes a game. He looked gassed when he got back in the game around the 7 min mark in the 4th quarter and settled for 3 bad jump shots. He got his second wind back a little end of the game on Monday. But he was clearly winded.

This. This alone makes this season a huge success. The eye injury was a freak thing, but we seem to be (knock wood) past the foot problems. He landed much better this year and I don't hold my breath every time he falls down now.

Yea I think fatigue and that mask played a part in missing some easy looks inside. Hopefully with an off-season to solely focus on conditioning/training his game and body instead of rehabbing, we could see him make tremendous strides next season.

Embiid is not yet at the necessary level to punish elite small ball, meaning, he is not dominant enough where if you put a strong mobile 6'10 player on him, he will absolutely destroy him. But he can get there if he improves his lower body strength and touch around the rim, and preferably train with Hakeem in offseason.

LMAO, Jojo and I have something in common. I'd never go down that slide either...

It's crazy how someone so big and strong would find this scary. Shows how human it is though!

That being said, holy **** do not fall!

Btw, ive tried that slide in Dubai Atlantis and it was cool. You enter a glass tube where there’s alot of sharks. The slide is super steep that sitting from embiid’s position you can’t see the slide in front of you.

I don't blame him. I love waterparks but I can't get myself to do the slides that go straight down like that. I did one and it scarred me forever.

Just try to loosen up and think nothing can go wrong. Its the Fight or flight mindset taking control.

Only thing i hate about waterparks is thinking that i may have drank someone’s urine..LMAO

I went down a slide like that when I was around 12 or so. It was at Kings Island in Cincinnati. Now Im sure part of this is my 12 year old memory but I swear it was about 40 times that high and like 76ciology said when your sitting at the top you cant see the slide in front of you because its almost straight down. Turned my swimming trunks in to damn near a thong. It would take an amazing amount of persuasion to get me on that thing these days.

So does that mean that he doesn't get the extra incentives that came with him signing his extension before the season?

Embiid gets 2nd team All NBA behind Davis. So he gets a standard max instead of a super max due to the special provisions in his extension. By agreeing to the extension the Sixers saved about $30 million over the like of the contract.

Congrats to Jo, and congrats to the Sixers on officially having a much clearer path to max cap space.

Yes, no MVP or 1st team All-NBA = no Embiid supermax!
